Waiting on them already and also the center bezel. Other trim pieces I'm getting hydrodiped.

Is a pain because they are plastic welded. Some guys have done it. You have to melt the weld off and then some used epoxy others used screws with washers.

Yes I got them Amazon, beware you see a slight amount still of the silver is some spots. Not alot just enough to bug me but there decent.

I believe the SR5 doesn't have pull down rear window, sunroof I'm sure there can be more bit not sure.

Yesterday changed the oil and prepped the new RCI Skid for install. Had bronze paint and matte clear left over. Figured why not. 3 coats of paint and 3 of the clear. Will let if sit and cure until next weekend before installing.

Yep. Just removed mine and had them color matched to my truck. Used JB Weld and screws to get them back on. Black door handles are from a Sequoia. Same handle, just OEM black.

That's why you only get the driver's control and don't install the auto up switches on the rest of the doors....you stay in control

Yep. All sorts of inspirational posters about how we drank from the water hose and rode bikes without helmets, but none of it confirms the truth that we were lucky to make it to our teens with our faculties intact.

When gentleman gets older he needs to work smarter.

Basically, how the rear shock is replaced: shock gets the lower rubber mount between two dished washers, then it is compressed with your body weight, then it is quickly inserted into the upper mount and aligned for the bolt insertion through the lower mount holes and shock itself. I could not do it in time. The shock comes compressed in the box, you are supposed to reuse that strap to hold the shock compressed while it is prepared for the installation, then you bolt it to the lower mount, cut the strap, guide it through the upper mount and fix it there. No brainer.

Unfortunately, I screwed up my first attempt installing them and had to redo it all over. Both straps were cut, but this is what locking pliers are for:

    2.jpg

Compressing the shock and routing the strap over the shock was too difficult, so a piece of scrap lumber to the rescue!

    3.jpg

Bolted to the lower mount, now can release the pliers:

    4.jpg

~80 lbs wheel is too much for my back, so here's another tool wife is complaining about :)

    5.jpg

Hint: keep the stock shock hardware, Toyota makes it better IMO. I'll see how those poly bushings survive the negative temps, but old rubber bushings were not disposed of.

I'm not a big fan of side steps, but my kindergartener has been struggling to get in and out of the car during school drop off. So the high clearance of the truck has become a safety concern. Luckily, I found these chrome beauties on Facebook for about $50.00. I don't care for the look, but the utility has been worth it this week at school drop off time.
