Damn, that's a bummer. I've gotten 65K trouble free miles out of my Bilstein 5160's so far with lots of offroad abuse. I think that the remote reservoirs make them a little more durable that the 5100's.

Solid point, but I imagine that you could reuse the boot off your 5100's if they're still in good shape. I think the stroke lengths are the same

I got my favorite upgrade to the truck yet in the mail yesterday (see below). I work hard to either pay cash for my vehicles or pay them off quickly. And with the Tundra I was fortunate enough to pay cash. Unfortunately, the dealer struggled to get the original title and there were months of delays getting me a new one. I finally had to talk to the manager and explain I was going to have to ask them to buy back the truck if they couldn’t get it sorted (legal action implied). Thankfully, once I spoke to the right person with the correct level of force, things moved pretty quickly.

This was a real lesson learned for me. I would never buy a car in a private sale without a title in hand, but I figured with a dealer it would not be an issue. Nope. Never again will I naively trust like that.

    Title: received

I'm pretty sure this would be illegal for dealer to do in the Communist Republic of Massachusetts.

Absolutely the best thing ever for anything! I wish I was fluid enough to be able to grab things without financing, but I'm just like you in that I pay as hard and fast as I can. With my Tundra, at one point I was able to throw $100-1200 a month at it.

Oh, for sure. The law in Utah is pretty clear too. If a dealer can't produce a title they have to take the car back. For me the frustration was more the lack of communication initially, the run around of "we're working on it," and finally the prospect of having to sell back the Tundra. I bought the truck I wanted, had already made some modifications to it, and did not want to start all over again. Thankfully, it worked out.

I'm no lawyer, but taking your last green roll and not handing the title over the next second stinks like a criminal record. Maybe the sales person who worked with you is no lawyer, too. But the upper floor guy who you talked to has a lawyer for sure, so that's why it flied.

Anyways, congrats on your no payments truck, which will be like new the next million miles or so ;)

I just ground the rivets away and smacked it with a hammer. Had both off in 10 minutes or so. Very close to the shackle but I ran with low tire pressure since I have onboard air. You should be fine but you may find rub marks on the tire but it is a spare

I had to threaten legal action with my truck as well unfortunately. It came down to buying it in July, but the county never saw paperwork. I don't know exactly where the issue ended up being, but as soon as I started talking about a lawyer to the finance manager at the dealer, the county clerk suddenly had my paperwork and I could register the truck in late November. I even got the county to refund the two temp tag extensions.

Nailed it. This was Mt Ord (7000ft give or take about the same as Mogollon rim) temps were about 80 day time and 64 night time. The wind was absolutely insane and I had to pack up the awning and move my truck at midnight. Like an idiot I parked with my side to the wind. After facing it directly it was manageable

I actually dug the fire pit out an additional foot or so & added another foot of rocks around it. Because of the wind

What was the amount of time? And which dealer? Most likely the dealer using your money before paying off the flooring line.

Looks sick! Drives smooth, did good on wet roads, decent hum, pretty excited to hit the trails. So far really impressed. Biggest con is cost lol

Yeah no kidding! I remember shitting a brick when I paid $1500 for 5 Goodyear Mt/Rs mounted and balanced 10 years ago. That’s basically stealing compared to prices now

Took a week but finally got the bumper caps done. Plasti Dipped them then raptor lined them. also painted the tow hooks same color as the "toyota" on the grille. taking off the front bumper and taking the caps apart are kinda pain, hopefully dont have to do it again.
