What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

operation dechrome continues... pulled my bumper ends, sanded, primed, base & cleared - just waiting for it to dry before i reassemble... if i knew how to post pics from my phone, this would probably be a more interesting post.

It was my first time using a redneck spray booth - i'm surprised so far at how little trash got in the clear - nothing that won't buff out easily

 

I want to get my bumper ends powdercoated, how was it removing them? PITA?

I also bought from TRS LED H11 Fogs, hopefully after I get my harness for the headlights I'll not have to take apart my front end for a long while if at all

 

I will be getting the 18's as well, as they are darker then 17' s and earlier...and BAD ASS My truck is black..so darker lights will look. Better!!...post pics when you get those bad boys on !!!!

 

no.. i did it last weekend, and it took me a little while longer but today... i had them off within 20-30 minutes. The biggest pain in the ass is the water shield in the wheel well - you've done that before right for your fogs?... once that's out, there's only 6 more bolts & 2 plastic push pins. 2x12mm and 1x10.on the top of each side along with the push pins, disconnect the parking sensors & fogs and you're done.

nb - on the sensors, don't try to disconnect them at the sensor itself, toyota very nicely provided quick connects on the harness on each side at the top of the bumper, easy to get to and then pull the sensors off when the bumpers off.

Once bumper is off it's about another 5 minutes to strip the ends

 

Good to know, thanks! Yes, I had to mess with those wheel well pieces for the fogs, they were a pain. Getting my bumper ends done is on my list, I will let you know how I make out when I finally get to them.

Lmk how u like them sports, especially if u run on street at night. Want to know how much more light they offer and if u get flashed. Hopefully u got them in wide cornering. Tnx

 

I definitely will. I got the driving/combo lenses. I mounted those up last night but had them flush and the beam was fine up close but far away it lit everything up. Today I adjusted them down so I'm gonna see how they are.

 

Ok tnx for response. I'm guessing u won't be able to run the driving combo on the road at night without blinding others, or so I've heard. I also heard same about wide cornering pattern but heard it helps cut down on blinding others. I'm planning to go that route and aim them little outward. I'm fine seeing far and straight, I really want to catch animals on the sides of the road and be able to see wider off sides of truck. All else I'm either good or have plan for. U can lmk anyway but I was hoping u had wide cornering, now take them back and get those to lmk how they are lol

 

Please please, pretty please, give me 1st shot on the methods if u decide to sell them. Can u do that for me if u go that route?

oh shit... i forgot to add the 3 bolts for the skid plate.....

 

I washed and waxed (w/ 3M Machine Polish #2 wax) my truck this morning. I got a ton of scratches out of my truck with a DA polisher and this 3M product. I had some pretty bad desert pin stripping down the entire length of the truck on both sides, moreso on the passenger side than the driver’s’ side. I’ll post up some pics later but @coosbaybaker and @tomsinamerica knows what they’re talking about.

What light bar did you go with for that lower valance?? I’m thinking about doing the same thing.

 

To be honest dude the combos light up the sides of the road like crazy. You get a 2fer with em. I drove around last night for about an hour with them mounted flush and didn't get one flash, i was lookin for em. They are bright as hell period. Wide cornering or combo when people pass you your lighting them up extremely well. Even with the ambers on I could see the frames of people's prescription glases. Just halogen then halogen and fogs.

Yeah u might not be able in the driving combo. See how high they shine on the house in ur pic? The wide cornerering have a much lower cutoff if you want to run at night like I plan. They concentrate the light more outward and not as high.

 

All else fails I'll grab some of those lenses. That's what makes them awesome. Just swap lenses instead of the whole unit.

Most definitely. It's worth 30 bucks to swap the lenses for the wide cornering instead of the whole unit. I'll play around with em.

 

If u want to run at night, it might be pia, but if u contact Bailey at BD I'm pretty sure he will allow you to exchange the pattern. Do a little more research and check out the cutoff pics I speak of. If u find it worth it to run at night on road, even though it not recommended, he can prob do that for u. See I live in sticks, with little street lighting if any, not many cars on road really late. So I'm planning to go same but wide corner and from others I've spoken to should be ok with it. Just fyi.

Oh yeah I forgot about the ability to swap lenses. Just another great benefit to an already great product.
