It seems like most companies powdercoat right over the bare steel. The local guy I use won't powdercoat bare steel, and either uses an epoxy or self-etching primer first. He did that method on steel bumpers for my Jeep CJ and they've held up great.

As those who work in the metal industry know, for any coating of metal you must have at least a SSPC-SP10 near white if not a SSPC-SP5 white metal blast cleaning to rid the surface of contaminants and all foreign material - because if you do not then that is what causes delamination or other failures of the coating.

On a recent run into town, I had the rear diff oil changed. this was my plug on the drain line... A little over 110k and I am willing to bet original oil. For those who service that part, does this look normal or should I plan on pulling it soon?

Just started ripping my dash apart to install new radio and paint rings and trim. Took out center console tray and shift knob and started on the driverside kick panel and yhe plastic piece wrapping under the steeringwheel.. So only 2 10mm bolts and that 1 plastic bolt have been removed.

I look down and see this on the floor. Anyone have an idea what this is?

Nothing exciting, but it obviously needed to be done. I change my cabin air filters annually because I don't put up huge miles. So I changed it today and yuck!

Not too exciting... got the GCS transmission cooler kit installed. Had to relocate my DD SS12 stealth light bars out of the grill and mounted to the bumper.

    Pros
They gave me a 10% discount
It has good fitment in place of stock airbox
    Looks good
    Sounds good
    Cons
Pain in the ass to get the box mounted with the 10mm bolts
Not a fan of the hex head screws for the lid ...I stripped 2
And I didn't like the way the TRD accelerator boot fit to the Stillen box so I used some electrical tape to secure it

When you see the size of the leaves that gain access to your air circulation system, you realize that the entrance by mice is pretty easy.
