Took a page out of @Vizsla book for mounting with slight modification. Going to have to run the light with the cover slightly open but that’s alright; flies open when off-road anyway. Originally was going to put it in the stake hole pocket but got lazy.

After nearly losing my shit with those bolts both times installing that box on my truck I ended up not using the rubber grommets from the stock box and instead just stacked a few rubber washers on the bolt. I figured all the grommets really do is just creates a good air seal at each hole n so that's what the rubber washers will do. You can also put a rubber washer right on the fender if you don't want to scratch the paint there. It worked for me and makes reinstallation a breeze whenever n after I gotta smog.
    20240830_193129.jpg
Give it a try @pvn.beluga and @Tundra234

Also, what makes it a struggle is having to simultaneously pull the box toward the fender, line up the 2 holes, starting to thread the bolts while having the little hood shock/strut support keeping your head from looking straight down into the hole to see if your lined up. I found it hard to start the thread by hand so I used a ratchet but then even the shallow socket was too deep because you have to push down but the head of the bolt is just pushing into the socket. So either stuff your socket with something to keep the bolt pushed down or use one of these bit drivers
    20240831_060317.jpg

    Anyways, hope that helps

It was definitely an awkward position with that hood strut in the way. I actually got the middle bolt on and then used an allen key to guide the bolt to the hole.

Thumbs felt like when I was installing my EVLMFG 3rd brake light… lol

Devil's lube or a little water-based KY or Astroglide (don't waste money on the good stuff) definitely helps anything rubber or plastic slide in place...

Passing shielded wires through the firewall grommet is another great example of how lubing up gets rid of the 'bind'

Couldn't agree more. Even though mines a payment princess I threw a nice lil piece of lingerie on my AFE for that extra piece of mind.

So, I had replaced the shifter trim and the cup holder trim with the AJT replacements. I thought that it looked so good that I also replaced the vent rings, climate control knobs, climate control rings, radio knobs, shifter, and the door handles. It looks so much better.

I hand washed my truck for the first time in over a year. Accidentally popped it out of park. Cruised down the driveway into the neighbors tree.

So I just learned that my truck can shift out of park without depressing the brake pedal or having the keys on the ignition. Suspecting a bad brake pedal solenoid switch thing. But body shop and I agreed to not try to fix anything until insurance adjuster takes a look at it.

Now replace the silver U piece with black and spray the shift indicator with matte to get rid of the reflection.

I keep telling myself that. Could have been much worse if a car was driving down the street. Just a huge inconvenience. I was rear ended 2 years ago and was in a rental for 3.5 months.
