Repaired the threads on one stud on both sides of my front end, all due to a locking lug that wasn’t deep enough to accommodate my extended studs. Also picked up a set of pro comp fenders. Going to order a set of new aftermarket fenders and cut those up opposed to my stock ones, then have it all painted Cavalry blue. Taped them on just for a mock up.

    thanks again @LILTRD

Many of those taillights let moisture in and they can short out the boards. Also, there is an error on some of those taillights where there’s an option to connect a resistor to the brake/parking light circuit in addition to the turn signal circuit. If that resistor fails from working overtime, you will have a short.

If that happens, is it as simple as removing the aftermarket LEDs and installing factory ones? Or would there be catastrophic electrical issues that could happen?
Reason I ask is because I replaced my factory tail lights with aftermarket LED ones after I found a cracked hole in my passenger tail light. So rather than replacing just the one I thought I'd give it a go with LEDs.
I do love the look of my LEDs :(

    The Dirty T ( ^_^)_且

These trucks are very sensitive to brake light changes, not the turn bulbs, just the brake light. I've replaced every light on my 2014, but had to go back to regular bulbs for the brakes. At first it was fine but after a while I started having problems where the truck would stop accelerating and slow down, the engine ran fine, just no acceleration. Took it to the dealer and was told that due to the floor mat BS, the vehicles are now programmed to kill the throttle when it senses brake and throttle while in motion. A faulty LED brake bulb sends this message to the computer. I put the old brake light bulb back in and it's been fine for years.

Little late afternoon run to break in the new tires and see how these containers hold up. Confirmed all fluid still contained.

Making me think twice about keeping my LED tail lights, I hate my back up lights as it is. They are not bright enough and I cant change them. I'm glad it worked out for ya.

Correct. The turns aren’t the issue. My point was that if these aftermarket tails are connected to a resistor on the brake light circuit that the light manufacturer provides, it can cause issues.

I have mixed feelings. Still have my 2000 which will be my daily again. In the midst of a rejuvenation project for it. Just don’t need 2 trucks, or a really large one. Sold my camper, so the camper we are buying to replace it will be 4200# and could be pulled with anything else we own.

I totally get it and I’ve been loosely following your conversations about it on some of the BS threads. I’m glad you’re at least staying in the Tundra fam. And, of course, GLWS

It’s not the trucks fault. All it’s ever done was all I asked of it. Roomy, comfortable, capable, dependable. The 2.5 is Toyotas best full size truck to date.
