Finished installing another couple of AuxBeam lights and wired them into the factory fog light harness. Very happy with the lights.

Then took my dog and girlfriend up looking for morel mushrooms. Went up a tighter trail that normally only jeeps and side-by-sides go up. I went up it last week on my ATV and thought the Tundra could make it. It could. Even made it up in 2wd. Couple of UTVs went by and looked a little surprised to see a full-sized pickup up there, lol.

Removed my driver side morimoto tail light today because the 2 inner fastener tabs just randomly broke . Hopefully Morimoto customer service will take care for me.

Damn that sucks, did you hit any potholes or large bumps or anything? Also did you hear/feel it while driving or notice it when you were out of the truck?

Started the grill conversion with a used MGM grill I found locally, pretty disappointed with the color match.

You have 9 years of sun fade on the truck.... if that surround is pretty new its probably the right color code but it just hasn't faded. This is the struggle you will likely face buying new parts in your color. To get a match, you will need a paint shop to spray the parts after they match the paint of your truck.

Almost looks like it was a standard gray surround from the SR trim. It's been known to be mistaken/mislabeled as MGM before.

It is definitely MGM, I even saw the truck it came off, I am just shocked how different it can be. Considering reconfiguring and going black since I have a black and grey theme going already.

FWIW I wouldn't have thought that much of a difference would exist from just sun fade. That's crazy.

I'm going thru this color match bull shit for my MGM.

I do much of my own painting.

There are 10 shades of 1G3 MGM that our could have come from the factory with.

My paint mixer guy said that this color is one of the hardest to match.

That color difference has nothing to do with fading due to the sun.

Nope I did not. My suspension does pretty well with road irregularities so I would rule that out for sure. The person following just told us the tail light randomly started flopping. I’m finding out this was an issue with the first few batches of these tail lights. It’s crazy because I’ve aftermarket tail lights for dozens of other cars I’ve owned before and I’m positive those brands were all from China, however, none of them ever had broken tabs like this which is disappointing coming from morimoto.

I changed the oil today for the 3rd time at 13,500 miles with Amsoil SS 5w30. The oil and oil filter looked clean. I’ve been using the Motivx tools with the OEM filter housing, which has worked fine. Months back I got the Jowett filter housing so I switch to that to try it out. So far so good.

I plan to get Line X this summer, and I had some big cargo dents in my bed on both wheel wells that I wanted to hammer out before I coat it. Kind of a crappy job, and I have really procrastinated. Removed the fender liners, pounded with a rubber mallet, and then put everything back. I think it's straight enough now to go for it.

Finished up a small hobby machining project this weekend. Wanted a removable mounting base for the interior LED light controller - so ordered a block of delrin off feeBay and made a mess on the mill. Far from perfect since I didn't really measure anything and just did it manually by eye, but it'll work decent. Controller attaches to the base with M4x0.75 screws and the base attaches to the truck with velcro.

Looking at how the tab broke, it looks like a manufacturing defect. It isn't visually detectable, but seeing as there isn't any stress marks in plastic tells me it was not impact related.
I suspect it is related to injection molding defects. Cold tool perhaps. it is very common to throw out the first 5-10 pieces when starting up a production run. People cut corners and try to save those pieces because they visually look good, but it's truly a gamble.

No way that is MGM. I wonder if there is a part number on it that will have the color or if the part number showing the color is just on the box. I'll have to look at my old sport grille to see.
