I just wanted to circle back and close the loop on this. The part in the picture (with the red arrows pointing at it) is called a water bypass pipe. The OEM Part# is 16206-0S030. Apparently it fits all 2007-2021 Tundra 5.7L. I also picked up 4 new hose clamps; the clamp OEM Part# is 96136-42501.

Back in 2022, "Antihero" had an issue with excessive corrosion on his water bypass pipes in his 2011 Tundra (sprung a leak) and posted on this forum: LINK

This is what the Tundra's water bypass pipes look like:

    Part No. 16206-0S030.jpg

I have the steel box that goes all the way across the floor and has locking lids. Good luck with the simple cubbies, should be easy.

Those painted red tow hooks really stand out! Did you paint them, or found red ones already painted?

Wheels and tires are on and it’s aligned. Love it! Had to trim the skid plate on the passenger side and take off the mud flaps. IMG_6463.jpg

After 5 years I finally got a full detail. Wax, polish and ceramic coating. If you're on the fence about getting a full detail I suggest you really consider it. Truck looks brand new again. Also, doing this increased my MPG's....just kidding...I still get 12mpg.

What!!? Your detail only kept you at 12mpg? You must be using the wrong ceramic coating..

Ceramic is expensive and usually only done when the vehicle is fairly new. Due to paint correction, most shops here won't even touch it on 5 year old paint. A few of the shops here tell customers that ceramic isn't worth the cost if you wash and wax quite often.

I paid $750 but I had a lot of paint correction and some spots that needed touch up paint. If your truck is in good condition it might be a lot cheaper. Another shop quoted me $550 but didn't want to do the topper in the back.

    Cautionary tale time…:

I’ll try to keep it short. After last oil change, after a short time, I noticed a small leak. Went directly to the stock filter housing and found that it was the source. My trusted local lube shop had over torqued it and caused a hairline crack. Strike one.

I went today, with a new aluminum housing for them to swap in, for its next service. They did the swap, the oil change, and sent me on my way. Arrive home, drip drip drip. Went directly to the housing and they had forgotten the cap. It caused a leak decent enough to leave a small puddle everywhere I parked. Strike two.

Went back and they retrieved the cap from the trash, put it in, and topped off the lost oil level no questions asked without an attempt to charge me. In the process of doing so, I heard them BLOWING THE FUCKING RESID LEAKED OIL all over the the place down in the pit. I have a skid plate so guess where all of that oil ended up? Fucking all over my shit up under that skid plate. Strike three.

I went ahead and took the old housing from them and noticed the moment they handed it to me that they didn’t swap the innards. Plus, the guys said that he’s never seen a new filter housing like that not come with a new cap. So he didn’t even notice that he had missed it. Strike four.

So, in closing, MotivX stuff and maybe a fumoto(haven’t decided yet) will be in route and my lazy ass will be doing this work from now on. Lesson learned: Just because they’re good people doesn’t mean they hire good techs.

Edit: They also completely rounded the hex head on one of the skid plate access panel bolts during the last service. I had to notch the damned thing to remove it. So that’s Strike 1.5 I guess.
