Lube up your replacement rings with oil and tighten the cap a little more, should fix your problem.

Use a torque wrench. The spec is like 7 ft lbs for the bottom plug and 15 for the housing.

It's because you install the plug cool, but remove it when hot. It swells from the heat

If you let the truck cool overnight, then removed the plug, it would come out easy.

Fancy torque wrench lol, fair point made to correct the problem. Just a little extra ugga ugga's, but no UGGAs should do it. :)

Braved the elements and removed damaged bully bar, grille, and headlight. Discovered hidden damage. Reinstalled damaged goods, cracked open a beer and fantasized about the one who walked away slowly roasting, marinated, upon the grill.
Oh, and swapped the interior lights to LEDs.

Unfortunately my torque doesn't go that low. I'll get one that does for next time but for now I'm just going to do my best guess to achieve these numbers. Thanks!

Oh, and I'll try the cold removal of the housing drain plug first next time.

I use a torque wrench and that seems to work. I change the oil after warming it up for a few minutes, so the oil is slightly warm but the metal is ok to handle.

I just never take that plug out. It's easier for me to just slowly lower the housing over my drain pan and dump it out.

Speakers, amp, subs, floorboard lights...and the little step thing under the bumper
New wipers so they hopefully won't 'scrunch' in light rain.
Changed the oil...Fumoto plug is the bomb-diggity...not a drop outside the pan, and very little there!
Forgot to drain the filter casing first, so that was a little messy, but still confined to drain pan.

Correct, that's what determines how loud you want it. I just went for a drive and the 8" is definitely a good choice. Description on the website is spot on. It's quiet when idling and really brings the sound of the v8 when you step on it. I'll post up a cold start video in a bit..

I am between the 8 and the 10 without the resonator. And just recently started researching. Don’t wanna make the wifey or kids mad if it is too loud.
I am planning to call him in the next few months. I am not buying until it warms up…lol. There are other questions I have…. One being, does the muffler size have any effect on performance?

It will sound even better when under 'load'... IE>>> In drive and rollin'; it's way different in park revving the engine than it is on the road

Yikes, it looks like your filter is starting to decompose. How many miles on the filter?

Check the build link in my signature.
9 ft-lbs for the plug and 18 ft-lbs on the housing.

And as Josh also said, lube that o-ring for the plug. I've never had it locked up on me since I started doing my own changes (as opposed to the time I had to use an air impact to get the housing off after the dealer did it).
