Am I the only Texan that looks at buccees as nothing more than a bloated gas station? I mean I’ll stop there and grab some snacks but I mean it’s just a gas station? I get gas, pee, buy a coke and some jerky, and leave. Probably the mass of wide eyed fools thinking it’s the redneck Mecca bumping into me and crowding everything and standing in the way and not paying attention that is aggravating me but still. It’s just a gas station.

    Short answer, no.

Longer answer, yes. Fast lines, above quality food and road snacks for trips, one stop shop for everything needed and more. The crowds can be a PITA, but when they are not; to me its worth the stop to not have to stop again for piddly stuff. My favorite time to go was before tee time since it was next door. Grab breakfast, waters and not waters, get to the greens. Plus lowest price bags of ice. I like some of their marketing and wear their seasonal shirts. Plus enough pumps, more down here than back your way.

I like the pay they offer their folks and I nerd out on their supply chain model.

It is more than a gas station for sure, but if i just need fuel and to get back on the road; i skip them. When I have the dogs i favor Loves because of the "dog parks." When I am driving from FL to TX or SD, i always look forward to stopping as a way to stretch and get that needed break.

I remember when they opened that one in Bama before the Florida line on i10 and it was empty. Went there a year later and it looked like the southern border with the line of cars.

And yet still, gas, pee, snacks, leave.

I probably also despise the place because it costs me $50 every time I go because of the wife and kids shopping.

Yep. It's the only place I go for gas because it's easy to get to and there's a back entrance that most of the tourists seem to miss so I can always get a pump. The Bastrop one is pretty damn clean and it doesn't seem to be as busy as the others. I can get gas, use the bathroom, buy some mints if I'm low, and get on out. I like that they greet you when you walk in and say bye to you when you leave.

Most of the time I just zip in for gas and get back on the road though.

Yeah, that'll do it. I won't go there with my wife.

I remember going to the Buccees in Luling 20 years ago on the way to the coast and being amazed by it.

Bastrop is one of the worst! Not to mention what they’ve done to 71 coming from Austin to get there. I much prefer the tiny version in Eagle Lake.

I remember that one before buccees was a thing. It was cool then. Now? Just another gas station.

Anyone do this to stop the fog light housing from shaking? Makes it nice and solid and no movement at all.

I miss my matching 20% on the front. On NC you can’t go any darker that 35% months n the front. But the rears you can go as dark as you’d like.

How bad was it? I tried it 20 years ago, pre YouTube to learn everything, and botched it horribly. Bubbles everywhere. Granted I was 16 and didn't care, but there is 0 chance that I would be ok w the hack job I did back then

Heat gun and everything? Or was it relatively simple?

I want to do some 35%ish tint on my fronts and clear on all the other windows with the heat rejecting ceramic, I had just resigned this job as one I would need to leave to the pros bc of my OCD

20% isn’t technically legal here in CO either. But to be fair, the rears aren’t even legal from factory as they’re 20% and we can only do 27%.

I drive like a grandma now. (Almost lost my license a couple years ago when I was 18 lol). My hope is that they’ll just leave me alone. A few of my buddies have been rocking 5% for a long time with no issues.

All that said, we’ll see… :fingerscrossed:

It was easier than I expected and went fairly well. The wet install makes it much easier.

Since it was my first time, there is a few imperfections throughout, especially the passenger side. But I did go in with the expectation that I wanted to learn more than I wanted it to be perfect.

Difference here is the vehicles have to be inspected every year and they check tint level. Tried to sneak it through and got a fail on my license plate & VIN. Would not be removed until the tint level passes. So I had to lighten the front windows to 35%.
