What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I wouldn't worry about it. I try to let my truck come off of high idle before taking off, but sometimes its not feasible. Send it.

 

I hear you. It definitely won’t be every time. I can make time though if it makes more than a negligible difference (which I’m guessing it doesn’t)

 

It probably doesn't matter. Its just a habit for some of us.

Ironman 4x4 Raid rear bumper. Will do a write-up elsewhere on install tips; this didn’t “fight” me as much as the front bumper, and the recovery points on this bumper did not crack and peel when tightened.



Tapped into the reverse wiring for the inner pods, brake light wiring for the outer pods, and angled them down a bit so they’re not too offensively bright.

 

So where was the other place that you bought it from?

 

Just added my TRD rear sway bar kit. Truck spends 99% of its time on the road other than trips out onto the beach in the summer and fall for striper fishing. Big improvement in body roll and a 1 hour job.

 

Received the front bumper within 3 days, rear about 8 days (different warehouses).

 

Installed Diode Dynamic SS2 ditch lights today. I used brackets from CBI and had a hell of a time trying to keep the hood aligned.

 

Decided to do something different. I bought a set of Westcott Design reservoir bracket. Spray painted the two holding screws, and put heat shrink around the clamps.

Hood alignment issues due to the bracket or just from removing the screws???

 

Curious if the mounting of the resevior in that configuration has any benefits compared to the instructions? (Those are 5160s right?)

 

Orientation won’t effect anything of the resi.

Yes, these are the 5160 set. The shock should still work regardless how it’s mounted. Would have been nice if Bilstein had an option to setup this way.

 

Holy crap, this is what I was thinking about doing with my 5160s. The Tacomas and the 4Runner has separate mounts instead of the piggy backs.

Those were drilled directly into the plastic wheel well? How is it even holding up?

Yeah, behind the plastic well is metal frame. It holds up very snug but don’t over turn it or you’ll strip the thread.

 

Initially it was due to loosening the hinge bolts. Now I’m thinking my issue is the passenger side bracket is making contact with the seal on that side. Going to loosen it and try again.

 

So it seems the CBI brackets are notorious for contacting the hood cowl. Yay me. I trimmed some of the rubber seal that was between the cowl and the bracket ands that helped however the bracket still touches the cowl pushing it down and the hood up.

 

Same happens with my CaliRaised brackets. I just fold them over and eventually they molded.

Auto window switch and chalk bag 32oz drink holder (Farm Girl was very happy about that one). Fun stuff. About a half hour's work all in on a gorgeous day. Retained the original window switch in my junk bag per recommendations on here, in case the new one fails. Thanks for the ideas guys. Happy New Years!

Yup, thing that took the longest was disconecting the old switch from the harness. Just be gentle so you don't break anything.
