I removed the wireless charging tray on my truck because it was useless for my iPhone 14. I have a different setup for that now, so that is no longer tapped into the 12V rear console plug.

I used the wire that came with the charging sockets but cut all the terminals off to adjust wire lengths. I took the two + cables and crimped them into a single male blade terminal and the two - wires and did the same. Those two male blade plugged into the OEM 12V plug and then crimped female blade terminals on the 4 wires and connected to the charging sockets.

Custom Alcans built 500# over with 2 1/2” lift were installed along with Caltracs. I utilized the SOS flip kit for shackle adjustment.

Looks great. I'm currently trying to gather all the wires, harnesses and extra stuff to install mine; it's a little overwhelming. How do you like the dash cams? Debating the Alpine ones vs other brands, integration vs price etc.

Untested at this point. My Apple Watch is sitting at 27% at the moment, so I'll throw is on there on my drive home later today

Anyone ever have issues with the SP-9100 from switchpros? Mine occasionally will flash 3 times, which all sites point to a short, but then eventually comes back on and works fine. No rhyme or reason that I can find as to why. Sometimes on startup it just works, other times nothing.

    upload_2023-10-11_14-8-40.png

I've pulled it out and tried wiggling it around to see if any wires are lose but no luck.

I have two circuits that will do that if the truck is running. If the engine is not running then they work fine. I keep meaning to call SP, but I'm never available to call them during work hours and actually troubleshoot it with them.

Anyway to bypass that circuit with a new wire just to see if the problem disappears? Should not take much to disconnect the circuit(s) and bypass with a new cable or temp wiring with the correct gauge wire of course

The dash cams seem alright. After having them a couple weeks they don't seem to be as good as some other options in my opinion, but I do like the fact that they integrate with the head unit. I chose to wire them up using the hardwire method which was relatively easy when installing everything at once.

Here is the link to the mounting bracket I used for the rear camera: https://www.thedashcamstore.com/custom-folded-bracket-for-secondary-dashcam-lenses/

The cameras do have some nice features such as their phone app, ability to record while the truck is off, lane assist detection, etc. I think it's really a toss up. If you want the integration you can't go wrong otherwise for the price of the Alipine cam you could probably find a better quality unit elsewhere. Overall I'm happy with what it does.

I think @RainMan_PNW still has his Thinkware U1000 front/rear cameras for sale. https://www.tundras.com/threads/thinkware-u1000-4k-dash-cam-w-2k-rear-camera-275-shipped.131474/

Is that just black paint for the rims? It almost looks like a gunmetal in the picture.

This is the only other picture I have at the moment that shows the orientation. If I recall correctly, I just lowered the rear window and pulled the seal down then wedged the bracket in place. I do recall bending the angle of it with my hands just a little to ensure it was straight. Pressed the seal back into place and then raised the window back up. It's in there pretty snug and will not go anywhere. There is a tiny dip in the seal where the bracket is placed, but it's barely noticeable and doesn't interfere with anything. If you'd like me to pull the seal down and snap some more pictures I can do that tomorrow.

I am going to have to see if I can get mine in the seal like that. Mine is above the headliner but it falls and then moves around after driving.

Sounds like it may not be sitting in the channel correctly or maybe you just need to bend it a tad ensure a tighter fit. Did you go with the 1" or 2" bracket? Wondering if the 2" may have a little less stability as the weight of the camera is further away from the channel leading to some vibration and causing it to move around.

Absolutely. Its not sitting in the channel at all. Which is an install error on my part but I wanted to get it ASAP after. My truck is in the shop right now due to being hit and I regret not having the dashcam sooner as it would have saved me a lot of headache and back and forth. Once I get it back I'm going to try and get it in the seal like you have. I believe its the 2inch version.

That seems really odd. I wonder if the unit is just going out. Haven't pulled the console out but nothing seems to "trigger" the shortage.

Just clarifying, running a new circuit off the Switch pro or just a new switch all together?
