tone deepened, sounds throatier than when I had the carvens on their own. Still screams at wide open throttle though.

Does the Natika round camera need an actual power source to work? I have the original one but switched to the round one and I just get a black screen when I plug it in. Thanks.

Yes. I like the Natika cameras. I’ve got a couple links on my installation help web page or you can look them up on Amazon.

Yes, the Natika camera should have power, ground, video, and video return. You can use the red ignition power lead coming off of the FRAC harness or any other ignition source you choose.

Ok so there is a wiring difference between the 2 Natika cameras?

I’m not sure I’m understanding your question. All cameras need power and video. Sometimes the ground and video return are combined on one line. But all the Natika cameras I have seen have the 4-pin micro-connector to accommodate all 4 signals. Check your Natika directions to be sure.

I have the camera in the first pic, and then switched to the round one. They both have the 4 pin connector. I just removed the old camera and plugged the new one into the 4 pin and it's not working. I tried two of them.

Homelink is housed entirely within the mirror housing, so unless the new mirror has it, you’ll lose that function. As for sensors - if your truck is 18+ then the safety sense camera is inside the shroud and wouldn’t be blocked or affected by anything located where the mirror is. And the other safety sense stuff is in the grill. And if you’re 14-17, then no sensors or other stuff to worry about.

Ahhh. OK. As far as I know the wiring should be the same. What I would do is temp connect your old camera 4-pin and see if it still works. That will tell you if the wiring is still good. Then if you still get a black screen with the new camera, use the cables that came with it and temporarily connect them to the battery, ground, and video into the FRAC input. It’s possible they changed the pin configuration with the other camera.

Could someone offer me some insight as I know nothing about cats. But I had a kitten sitting on top of my engine cover. Will it cause any damage to anything? (Wires or etc) wasn’t able to get a picture as it took off once I popped the hood.

Hopefully it wasn't chasing a rodent in your engine bay. The cat won't hurt anything. Rodents chewing your wires will most definitely mess everything up.

Won't cause any damage until you start the truck not realizing it is under the hood. Will be a rude awakening.

As a kid, I had more than one traumatic experience related to that.
We would have barn cats climb up in the engine bay in the winter because it was warm. We’d go out in the morning to head into town (or where ever), mom or dad would turn the key, there would be a godawful shriek and thump, then parents would curse, pop the hood, and then deal with pulling the mangled (and sometimes not dead) mass out from the fan belt or fan.

To this day, if I don’t know where all the cats are before I leave, I’ll pop the hood and check first.
