Installed a Veepeak OBD II scanner and OBD Fusion app to monitor engine, atf pan and torque converter for when hauling the travel trailer. Drove two hours from the mountain cabin and aft/tc didnt get over 190* on 37s which makes me happy.

Now that I can monitor the temps Im going to do a drain and fill for the transmission. What temp do I pull the overflow plug?

I've had a few people question them.

The funniest was when I was helping a lady in her Corolla get unstuck at the forest where I walk out dog in the winter. I pulled out the recovery boards and fold-up shovel and got her out in 20 seconds. She asked about the gear and then asked "What's up with your truck, are you government or something?". She said there are no decals or anything and you have those Canada flags. I explained no, just took branding decals off, served in the Reserves, proud to be Canadian etc, so put on some Canada flags.

Friends/family said the same, could've been a lot worse than just metal getting shredded. Thankfully I was in the car alone.

Right, would've completely bashed the light instead of the beloved truck.

I can appreciate this, thank you! However you do get a like.

Washed it over the weekend and noticed a part damage. Not sure if it was a bird strike or something else but it's clearly bent and a bit dinged up. Anyone know what this part is called and how I can order it? It's not metal, it's plastic.
Note: it's the other side and I didn't take a picture but it's definitely damaged.

I am wondering if my OBD Fusion is set correctly to monitor my temps. It seems mine are always 198 lately, it is hot and I did not have my OBD a working for me until about a month ago before I went to Missouri. That is when I was seeing the numbers up there. What is the norm?

#7 in the diagram. You will have to get them painted. I pulled it for a 2019 SR5...they should be the same part number for all trim levels.

Too many variables to determine an average temp. You could always delete and reenter the PIDs to see if it makes any difference.

Was getting ready to camp out for the weekend and worked on the awning mount. One of the cons having a mid height rack is the awning mounting. Originally had it higher by 6” but it looked goofy and was higher up than when I had stock suspensions and tires. So shortened the brackets and doesn’t interfere with rtt etc. looks longer or sticking out further more so in the pic than real life. Bonus pic of it deployed this last weekend.

Looks like flying crap on I-15 damage to me.

Quick - order tonight before the 20% off sale ends.
    https://autoparts.lewistoyota.com/products/product/panel-fr-end-rh-l-539310c903
You need to add something else in order to get free shippping because the 20% off drops below the $75 minimum. (I am sure you have other goodies on the list or can get maintenance items.)

I'm pretty sure the temp needs to be between 100-110F. I use the same thing (Veepeak and OBD Fusion). The temps are mentioned in this Transmission Cooler Install video: https://youtu.be/5DLkja6vXvc

Funny that you mentioned this. I just got a new toy - an Xtool D8 scanner. It gives all sorts of live data including ATF temps. I'm really impressed. https://youtu.be/IVsrqxtlcDI
    :bananadance:

I also ordered a Fumoto valve after making a mess draining my oil. Now I know why folks here are using it. Why do I have to learn the hard way?

Ya I love my Fumoto valve. Takes a bit longer to drain but no mess and I just drink a beer while I wait haha

New to this thread, looking to make some upgrades to my SR5. Has anyone installed the katskin leather? How does it compare to the oem tundra leather? Is the ventilation any good?
    Thanks

By the way, if you're using the OBD to monitor your truck, remember to unplug it when you shut down. If you leave it plugged in overnight, it will drain your battery. Another lesson learned the hard way...

Installed the usb c charger to replace the rear seat cigarette lighter outlet.

Used the heat gun to push back some of the front wheel well liner that rubs in reverse at full turn.

Wanted to get mud flaps back on the front to protect side body so did some cutting of mud flaps to prevent rubbing as well.

What usb / C charger did you end up using? Any issues with it or the install?
