When I was up there, I would find it funny when folks said it was "hot" but it did get into the 100° range one week in August and ppl would run out to Costco for window units.

I have wirelessly charged with the disc on but it gets much too hot to touch. Fortunately, I really don't care about wireless charging, and the cord makes it possible to use Android Auto with the head unit which is much more useful to me. With the Klock Werks mount, it wouldn't matter where you mount it, it will hold. Like I said, it will hold a tablet. My S22+ battery life is amazing and it charges incredibly fast.

Gas in the nearest Idaho town is $3.99 a gallon and $4.69 in Washington.

I filled up on the reservation yesterday from half tank and it was $60. Gas was "only" $3.90 a gallon.

Received it yesterday and installed this morning. So far works great. Old switch and New. Not a bad investment for $85. 20230709_104222.jpg 20230709_105059.jpg

Supposedly they have addressed all the issues with these.

Anyone know the stock tire size for 2018 Platinum? Looking for stock diameter so I have a baseline dimension for my speedo calibrator. I had Michelin’s and were 20” wheels is all I remember

Pretty sure most of the models were 31.5” OD stock. If you put your VIN into the Toyota app it should tell you the stock options your truck was built with, though

    Too many mods to come
Ok installed the washer tank relocation and the stillen tube. Some may recall the prospeed box was always at least 60+ above ambient. After sealing it off I was locked at 30 above ambient.

Now with the stillen pipe 10-15 above ambient. In traffic less heatsoak and within 4 blocks down to 10-15 above ambient. Pretty happy with that. Did a few pulls and temp didn’t move while on the freeway. Boost held solid at 8.2 lbs. Note that this won’t work with the radium catch can single mount so need to move to the double mount.

Got some new shoes, finally the crappy OE Bridgestones outer treadblocks wore down to slicks and impulse purchased some 275/60r20 KO2's. Was a tossup between these and the 285/60r20 Falken Wildpeaks but they were concerned about them fitting. To Discount Tires credit they were willing to test fit them for me but after some quick deliberation figured the slightly smaller size, cost savings, and weight savings of the BFGs would be better. They are D rated too so I figured they'd ride a bit better than the Falkens which were E rated.

So far I like them, truck feels more planted in turns and no longer feels like a boat, I now understand why the outer treadblocks wore so quickly on the stock tires. Only problem is a vibration at interstate speeds 70+. Going to get an alignment tomorrow and see if that helps at all and if not, back to DT for a rebalance.

BFG's are notorious for balancing issues.

Method 705 wrapped with 37x12.5 r17 bfg ko2 tires. Such a smoother ride than the MT they replaced.

So I've read. Seems to be a 50/50 shot but it's only been a few days, if after an alignment and rebalance the problem persists then I might be using DT's stellar customer service to switch these out for the Falkens or might go an entirely different direction. Not seen too much on here about the Nokian Outposts, seem very similar in design to the Falkens, and the weight and cost of them is very tempting however there seems to be some conflicting information on if their posted weight is legit.

Yeah I see the same thing with mine. I just got 295/70/18 Ridge Grapplers yesterday. The Nitto site and a couple others say that they are 70 lbs. Alot of other sites say that they are 63 lbs. :notsure:

DIY tire rotation with off road jack (gravel driveway), double pin jack stands, full sized spare tire swap (5 tire rotation).

16y old did 90% off it. In and out, with a few hiccups, 40min.

Oil change will be our fall project as we want to start doing those ourselves too.
