What OEM radio accessories were you able to continue using after install and what did you loose? Rear camera, road assistance, etc

To my knowledge nothing OEM. Everything works.

    • I didn’t know that this head until which not in CarPlay would not offer real time gas and weather. This is due to the company no longer offering the support. (see attached)
    • When but in CarPlay you can not use the compass on the home page menu and shows as 0’ (would be using. CarPlay so I don’t care)
    • I have a front camera installed with a button to activate for trailing and or parking. This head unit offers a front camera mode BUT automatically turns on when creeping to a Stop Light or parking. No way to shut it off and doesn’t bug me too much.
Thats it. Other than than it’s solid (so far and reviewing within 48hrs.

Thanks for the link. I didn’t see that before I did mine. I ended up JB welding a nut for the second bolt and never trimmed anything for the wires. Seemed to go in without resistance though.

    So stock.
I prefer the heritage ones, but it’s whatever you like.

More importantly could you share more pics of your Tundra? I’m trying convince my wife that this is the way.

Depends how it looks with the rest of your truck. I'm normally a fan of the full heritage wheel look but if you have other red accents, the red cap could work really well.

Removed the caps from my battery and topped off the cells with distilled water. Still the original battery on my 2018. Not sure if it is because I do this procedure every spring and fall. Any ideas?IMG_0534.jpg

The best kind of tools! I like to buy them to find new excuses and projects to use them for, which inevitably leads to more additional new specific-use tool purchases...

I didn't do anything to the original battery in my 2019. In fact, I never did anything to the AGM battery in my Volvo that I put there in 2012.

What radio did you have before, standard, or, jbl?
Do you hear a difference in the quality of the music?

Installed my Icon leaf expansion pack. Passenger side went fairly well. Thought I’d fly through the driver’s side using lessons learned on the passenger side, truck had other plans. Axle shifted on me somehow and my pin wasn’t lining up. It somehow moved 3/4 of an inch back and the axle rotated slightly to add to the fun. Used a little ingenuity, a come along, and a second jack to get everything to line up. When it’s all said and done I guess I wish I’d paid someone to do it. Got sloppy in my frustration and ended up crushing my hand to add some pain to the process. Truck looks good though, no more Cali lean.

Standard. Was horrible and yes huge difference. I’m not a huge car audio guy but eventually will do all the speakers.

Mabe Serge didn't know what he was talking about when he said they had several. Make sure you have them search for 2007-2013 model years. You could also inquire about Sequoias but I am not sure what model years. IIRC they kept the grab handle for awhile after it was eliminated on the Tundra.

Was getting a check brake system light and noticed my brake fluid was at the minimum mark. Topped it off and went away. It’s a 2020 and only 30k miles, my brake pads were measured at 7-8mm less than a month ago. Probably not time to replace the brake pads yet right?

    Thanks!
I wasn’t going to do anything to my radio, then I saw a recommendation $60 dash speakers, that lead to rear door speakers, then I was given an amp. A definite improvement, but, I think it’s just ‘amplified’ the shortcomings of the stock head unit. I think this kenwood is in my near future!
