Satin black roof, 18” KO2’s, satin black powder coated steel rims, tri fold tonneau cover. Led lights interior, exterior. Trd pro grill. 13” ryonnair antenna. OEM LED headlights.
Installed my LED headlights today using ihacker harness, install was smooth as silk and the lights look awesome! Will have to go for a drive tonight with a Phillips and see if they need aiming. Truck could use a wash too haha A8702D93-1DF9-4AF3-A166-7A853918ABB8.jpg

Well, a buddy of mine scraped my parked truck. It’s not too bad. The bumper cap is slightly bent out of shape with a big scuff on it and a lot of his Tiguan’s white paint. He felt terrible and gave me his insurance info right away. Guess I’ll be calling Nationwide with a bunch of pics.

I bet the part is cheaper than the deductible.

No deductible if you don't notify your insurance company and just deal directly with the other parties insurance.

True...just saying that part is probably $150-200, plus paint. I bet that's a $750-$1000 repair through a body shop.

Most of the smoked lenses I've seen, you can see the brake lights pretty good, especially at night. I have seen just a few over the years that were pretty black and the lights were very dim. Even the brake lights and even at night. Probably DIY jobs. I don't care who you are, that's just dumb. I'm sure most would agree.
What bugs me more are the factory LED tail lights that are so bright they look like the person has their brakes on all the time. That shit hurts my eyes. Not sure if some cars come like that, or if people are "upgrading" to brighter LEDs, but man that's annoying.
But the worst are the headlights that are that stupid blue color. Not bright white. That stupid neon blue crap. There's no way you can see where you're going at night with those. I see those more than I see the tinted tail lights.

I really suggest he consider covering the cost rather than going through insurance. I know for me it would be way cheaper in the long term.

Most people say they would rather pay out of pocket until they see the estimate and then change their mind.
I would pay out of pocket. Just don't notify YOUR insurance because you will have to pay the deductible and wait for your money back and they will raise your rates but not say it was because of your claim.

Added a diamondback cover my truck and painted the tow hooks. Very happy how everything came out.

I told my buddy after the fact that I may just look up a couple parts, and if he wants to cover the cost out of pocket, then I’m good with that. I don’t know how such a minor thing might affect his insurance, but if he wants to keep them out of it, then I’m good with that.

I need to see if the mounting bracket behind the bumper cap is busted up. The lines are a bit wonky on the side that got hit.

Literally picked up my truck from the body shop today for the same repair. They replaced two of the brackets behind that corner of the bumper and painted both end caps. The other guys insurance paid $680 for the repair.

I find funny that those who complain about tinted tails have offset wheels that extend beyond the fenders and throw rocks breaking windshields.

If it looks good underneath, I may just have him buy me a painted cap from Sparks. I can install it myself. It's not too big of a job.

this is a good thread. It’s cool AF to see guys put in the work to make their rig better how they see it. Fun as hell to work on our rigs and make them ours.

There’s also the outer subframe piece that’ll require replacing. It will be bent almost guaranteed. And good luck pulling the top plastic piece to get to it without breaking some clips that are part of the top cap…

My buddy said he has accident forgiveness and no deductible, so he went ahead and opened a claim. Now I just need to make sure they use OEM parts…
