What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Is that Go Rhino RB30 step board? Do you like it?

 

Installed the G-tek Fab SABM today. The seat of the pants dyno felt improvement, could tell a difference on shifts. It also gives a good throaty sound when romping on it. Pleased with it so far, now we'll see if it doubles my mileage.

 

What did you use for wrap?

 

Is Gtek still around?

 

Through TRDShop.com is all that I'm aware of. That might not even be current.

Thanks. I need to order one for mine. My original kit from my 2nd generation is too short for the 2020.

 

Added some apex off road front bumper spacers to get rid of the tire rub. fit perfect and were significantly less than the competitors.

Hello, the wrap I purchased from Autozone. It is carbon fiber adhesive film, by Trimbrite. $14.99
I like the matte finish. It’s not the typical gloss carbon fiber. I didn’t do a good job so gonna take it to a professional. Will post pictures when it’s done. Hope this helps.

 

I installed the Bakflip MX4. 3 hours later the release cable from the latch system pulled out and was hanging down. I called their customer service number and they are sending me out a new cable and latch.

 

He was on one of the other Tundra forums when I came across him. Bought the SABM kit and was gonna pull the trigger on the sill protectors but he never responded to my message so I wondered about his status.

 

Well I missed installing my Air Injection Relocation Kit by “that much”!! Got everything apart, routed the lines down and I sit there looking at my options of running them and I do not see a way to get them past my remote resi for the icon shocks. I have 2 of them under the front and real estate is very little. Really thought it would be a quick job but looking at removing shocks to cut and then not knowing if it would even work I put everything back together.

Will be posting my kit up for sale very soon. Bummer

 

The SDHQ kit or a home-sourced one?

 

Got the wife's Bilsteins shocks and Power Stop pads and rotors installed over the weekend.
So far she hasn't noticed the 4Runner now sets level thanks to the adjustment on the front shocks.
She also gave it a HUGE thumbs up as far as the handling. The I-70/71 split in downtown Columbus has some wicked bumps in the middle of a turn. The 4Runner would walk to sideways every time she went over it. Not anymore. She said it held the corner and the bumps had no effect.

Now I can get back to looking for more mods to do to the Tundra....
I really want a Whipple supercharger and some long tube headers... wish Youtube had some tundra dyno runs using the Whipple.

Added color matched door handles. Big improvement from the matte black plastic in my opinion.

Looks good ! Went with matched as well from the chrome .. the matte black was 2nd option. Were they fading ?

 

The aluminum powdercoated ones? I have them on mine as well....I removed them from my 2013. They were not easy to remove....I think they were hurricane proof lol.

 

Which Bilsteins did you get? Stock tire size?

That is insane! Amazing and thankful no one was hurt. Adding insult to injury was the same tire rear ending the poor person after they came to a stop.... One of those billboared lawyers is about to make some money....

 

Stock tire size 265/70/17

 

Replaced stock front skid plate with aluminum plate from LFD Off Road. Eventually I’ll level / lift the front but for now the benefit is easier oil changes.

Yeah they were definitely fading a bit. Any time I washed the truck it would really stand out how faded they were. I suppose I could have used some plastic restorer for them but figured I would just swap them out instead for a long term solution.

 

never heard of these before. does this make it so you don't need to do a cab mount chop?
