Put the bed rails back in their original position. The previous owner must have had a reason to drop them down with aluminum plates, but I don’t see the sense of it as it doesn’t hold too securely. They also had broken the anchor points at the back and had something mounted by the tailgate. I put some light duty anchor points where they had holes for now because I need something (hole spacing was the same). At a later time I’ll replace the originals and add some more, possibly where the bed bolts to the frame.

May have had a tonneau cover on the truck that was conflicting with the original bed rail location.

Nailed it. My Bakflip required me to drop mine down using plates identical to the ones pictured. Haven't had any issues using them in the lower positioning, for what its worth.

Yeah, I thought that might be it. Is it the rail itself or the bulky tie downs that interfere? These plates would bend before I get my ratchet strap tight enough on most things.

I don't think you can attach the rails for the Bakflip without lowering the bed rails. Maybe they changed how thick their plates are, because mine could take a lot of force and not move.
The original cleats would also hit the cover if the bed rails were in their original position, but there are solutions for that.

Yeah, it looks set up exactly the same. Thanks for sharing. I have no plans for a tonneau cover. I've considered one or a cap, but when I get a trailer I'll be set.

95% wrapped up with taking out the red Katzkin’s and putting in the two tone. Red was there from the previous owner, just not my cup of tea. The black and pacific is much less loud when you open the door and adds a subtle touch.

I put a Gator ETX on my truck for $270ish. Works fine. Not as secure as a hard cover, but keeps water and curious eyes out.

Front and rear. Install was probably a total of a weekend with plenty of errands and what not in between. With zero distractions, one could probably knock them out in a long days worth of work. They aren’t difficult to install, but certainly frustrating at times.

I meant the box on top of the winch. I'm assuming you had to relocate it due to clearance issues with the bumper.

Right on, was just curious I might toss 5w30 in the truck for the summer.. the 0w20 just seems so weird for this truck. I have 2 other vehicles that use 5w30 as well.. should just buy it by the barrel lol
