Started my audio upgrade. Bought this when the truck was stuck in the shop for 9 months. Just reached out to James @james@tech12volts and he's sending me the dsr1 I need to make it work as well as some upgraded door speakers. Anything will sound better then the stock jl system.

Are the subs 10 or 12 inch? Let us know how it sounds after it is installed. Are you keeping the head unit? JBL or Non JBL?

It's 2 10" w3 shallows in jl's sealed stealthbox. I've heard great things about it so we will see. I'll be keeping the stock head unit for now. It's the jbl stock system.

Nothing new to report on the mod front yet. Just doing some post season/preseason touching up. Refinished the wheel wells and lower control arms with steelit.

This is a snug fit for any single row light bar. There is not much room to adjust the light beam down or up. What I did was tilt the back of the light bar upwards as much as I can, then tighten down the bolts. I wanted to make sure the light beam doesn't shine up to incoming drivers. But again, the light bar sits about 2 feet off the ground, so it shouldn't blind other drivers on the opposite road. Standing 30 feet away in front of my truck, the light beam does not blind you. But if you squat down, yes, the light beam will shine directly at you. Mine is the Rigid SAE light bar, which is legal to use on the road, but I only turn it on during foggy and rainy conditions or when off roading. Only once, I had someone high beam me on a two way road. A technician told me I can trim down the opening using a dremel to give the light bar a little wiggle room, but I wasn't looking to mess up my bumper. In all, the install came out clean. Perfect spot on the bumper for any lights to be mounted. Post some pictures when you get it wired up.

Mine is a combo light, with outside floods and center "driving" lenses. It's aimed a little down based on the rake of the truck. When I level the truck it will be perfect. I turned it on last night on a straight stretch of road with no oncoming traffic, and its significantly brighter than my lows with driving lights, and throws way more light further down the road than my brights. I wouldn’t use it with oncoming traffic, it's way to bright for that.

It’s been a while and many mods later.. Massive thanks to @RainMan_PNW for getting me set up with BSM, love it. Also @reywcms for blowing my mind and pushing me even closer to a SC (and for the leafs ). Finally got the tent mounted and ready to go as well as my truck not being brown anymore

And we got that bad boy in. Seeing 14.8v on start up now, so the AGM battery will start charging.

You won't regret it. James is phenomenal to work with, and knows his way around our trucks. I ripped all the garbage JBL branded stuff out after about 2 months of owning it. I've got a build thread in the audio subforum I think. It was about 2 years ago. Arc audio subs, audio frog doors, JL amp, DSR1 to keep the factory head unit. Still have it, and won't likely replace until it is necessary.

If I may make a small suggestion... Killmat (Amazon) that truck while you have it apart. You don't have to go overboard and do every inch, but a couple full sheets inside your door on the inside of the outer door skin (it sounds as weird as it reads, but trust me) and on the inside of the door between the panel and the sheet metal make a HUGE difference in road noise reduction. I also did the entire floorpan while I had the truck torn apart. My brother has my old Tundra and we did just the doors, and it make a huge difference on his. Maybe 80% of the benefit of doing the overkill approach I did.

Got the rest of my holes drilled and shot with cold galv. Had the damn drill bind up on me and swing around and smack me hard in the cheek/lip - split lip, saw stars for a few seconds. After that, I went digging though my bits and came up with a spiral fluted reamer I forgot I had. That made the last 6 holes much easier.

I’m short a few lock washers and need some longer bolts to accommodate the cat plate mount, so hardware store tomorrow to finish things up.

Nothing like having to crawl out from under the truck (in the gravel) every 3 minutes to send a ball hurling through the air.

had Dura Coating tires on my last 35”. this time using Exoforma on my new 37” as i really liked there other products. similar results; Clean tires really good. put on coating (3) results is dry to touch, NO sling and doesn’t attract dust/dirt. just rinse and use car wash soap, light scrub, rinse and blow dry
