What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Another learning in Baja is that hitting water holes and mud at speed over and over for days on end. The electrical system and lights etc didn’t like it. So today fabbed up some protection plates and used to nutserts in some existing holes.

Once this dries I’ll mount it all up. Slowly working through the priority todo list before we jump back to the next round of mods.

 

I got the 1794 to honeycomb grill swapped, Added Yotaleds raptor light kit (holy hell they are bright) and a heritage badge installed.
Need to fab a little bracket for the front camera and can complete the project.

Is the power tailgate lock compatible for a 2015 Tundra? If so, can you provide the Toyota part number please? Thanks in advance!

Do you have plans for the blanks on the SP Panel? That's the only thing holding me up is because I don't know what to do with all of the extras, LOL.

 

Love the SmartCap, can't wait until they do their next run in Aug so I can order! How was the build and install? Did you do it yourself? Did you order direct from them?

 

Replaced my PCV valve. Anyone else done this? Not as simple as the online videos.

Yeah that’s all that matter they get delivered. Yes Vin does a awesome job packing them. I have had 3 sets and now my fourth set the F5’s going on in the spring. Not once ever had a issue with any of them.

You can't see in there very well, and it's pretty tight if I recall.

The 2x8 just slips in. When I have to use the whole bed I just lift it out and either lay it on it's side of leave it outside the truck. The plywood is there so when it rains the little bit of water that sneaks in doesn't get my hunting gear wet. I had to hunt with a frozen jacket one time, it wasn't good.

 

Wasn’t sure if there was a factory option for this or to go aftermarket. As long as it’s functional, I’m happy either way. Thank you for the link

 

The kit I used was Toyota Part Number

PK3B6-34JS0, which shows it's for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 trucks. I'm not sure of the part number for the years before that. Perhaps someone on here has that part number handy? I'll do a quick search and see if I can find it for you.

Same part number for a 2018 as well. Just completed a few weeks ago. Very easy install. Worst part was removing the cat plate to gain access.

 

It was a pain in the ass, but it’s in. Evil Manufacturing 3rd brake light.

I’m about to take on the same project myself. My S2s just came in today. How is the output at night?

 

I found one in stock locally. The install was $300 (USD) and I didn't have anyone around to help with the install, so I went that route. In reading the instructions and looking at the cap now that I have it, I don't think it's a difficult job. You you just need someone, or a lift, to get it on the truck.
Next up is figuring out the interior. I need some sort of organizational structure for my tools and whatnot. Then lighting. I'd like to do some LED strip lighting in the roof and doors.

 

Just a tip. I had great luck in removing all the leftover bits, with a lil bit of heat from heat gun and “pink pearl” school eraser.

Finished up installing a new dashcam. Thinkware F200 Pro. It’s a nice upgrade from the Amazon speshul I’ve been running.

 

They’re sufficient for me since they’ll be chase/blind the tailgater lights, lol. But they are good!

 

I’ll be using them for the same reasons

 

For me, was a plastic trim tool and some goo-gone. Cleaned it up real good, then wiped down with isopropyl alcohol.

Did you use nutserts?

I scraped my old gasket using Goo Gone/Goof Off (off-brand that I feel is much better) and a plastic razor.
