I love the radio. I have only had it installed for a few days but I haven't had any issues so far. It also made my speakers come alive. My kid loves it because he gets to watch netflix while he rides around. I was hesitant at first because of all the bad stuff I saw online. I joined the facebook group and saw that most of the people that were having issues didn't have a Toyota so I took the chance and I am glad I did.

@thered how many miles were on your truck when you bought it? Sounds like it was hammered.

The center console, the seat, just feels like lots of wear and tear.

Last de-chromed part of my Tundra….Bushwacker fender trim bolts. (4) coats matte black then (4) coats clear.

the leather held up nice, no rips.

My 2020 has 42k on it and will never see 287 as long as I own it, just don’t drive that much I guess.

Yeah, it's got patina, but it's still solid. :D I got this one for a whole lot cheaper than the lower mileage platinum or even SR5 of the same year I looked at and felt more solid. Just getting broken in. :curls:

Did you remove the badge to paint it? Did do anything before the paint? Not sure paint sticks to chrome very well

Drove past 0 and found out the fuel light doesn’t come on until you pass 0 miles.

Thats weird. In my experience, it comes on when I have 2 or 3 gallons left before it reads 0.

Very similar to what I did. I would add wearing gloves once you use alcohol otherwise your skin oils could cause issues. Also, if you have the time leaving it to cure for at least a few days afterward makes the paint harder and less likely to be damaged. @azTony

Nice work btw Paul. Looks great.

The fuel mileage/range system in the Tundra does not synchronize well at all. There is no excuse for the displayed MPG's to be so different from the actual, measured MPG's. I believe the fuel level at light illumination is tied to that poor synchronization as well.

has yours always been like that? I am not sure of mine recently if there was a software update or something, but i usually fill up at a 1/4 anyway so not sure if something has changed.

maybe its because you have the 38 gallon tank.

If you're referring to the inaccuracy of the displayed MPG's, yes, I use Fuelly which does the actual calc on every fillup and it ALWAYS calculates a lower MPG than the truck reports. Not always by the same amount, but it's always wrong. It doesn't seem to matter when I fill up.

Thanks to @TRDFerguson for the led headlights. They look much better than my old candles lol. I can confirm I still hate fiberglass.

that’s the first time I’ve ever run it that low. It took 31.2 gallons to fill it so there was still at least 6 1/2 gallons in the tank. That puts me around 11.4 mpg which is about what the truck consistently says I’m getting. That’s my right foots fault.

(2021 TRD Pro) AMP Steps, Ceramic Tint 5/20/70 windshield, Kilmat floor, doors and rear with Audiofrog/Arc audio/JL speaker upgrades and factory HU. AJT blackout. Ironmax4x4 Raid bumper with 10w amber work lights and 32" light bar. Rago dash setup with Bulletproof phone mounts. VLEDs interior kit with front and rear footwell lighting. X2Power AMG 27F.
Had the Westcott front pro pre-load kit and the rear Coachbuilder +3 setup installed. SUCH a great adjustment to the stance but man do those factory A/Ts look tiny now! Can't say it drives much different, but it does feel little tighter perhaps. Not stiff, but tighter and responsive. Need to wash the truck again but the shop did great. Shout to Teq Automotive on the east side of Houston. Stand up guy who is likely my toyota (master tech previously) mechanic for life since we're 100% toyota household now..

I'm at 37k miles and I think I could squeeze another 3-4k out of these tires with putting myself in a bad spot. Patiently waiting for the Falken Wildpeak R/Ts to hit discount tire. Thats 8 weeks out according to our local shop.

Its been a good effort to install a lot of stuff I've held onto for a year + in some cases.

Still need to toss the TRD Sway bar on
Interior VLED kit and footwell kill
Rear door Kilmat and audio frogs
wire up my light bar and utility lights (if I determine where I want a switch AND get a switch terminal for underhood so I can do it correctly)

Spring I'll de-badge, de-con and give it a good treatment with some reasonable DIY ceramic or graphene or whatever will give me some good life and take abuse. So much industrial construction going on around here, its impossible to keep it reasonably clean.

I may toss pictures up of the truck with the new stance, but the tires are embarrassing, now.
