Are they a failure point? I could see it with vibrations. Did you solder all the connections?

Hey. I had same issue with FRAC harness. It was acting weird and actually killed my battery. I just replaced it with anytime camera harness. All good now

Y'all let Lou know at FRAC. He will want to know about quality control issues with his harness.

I just installed the RCI steel engine skid plate yesterday. It's well built, but man is it heavy in steel. Very happy with it.

Didn't order the trans or cat plates, so no experience with them. I'm hesitant to put on a trans plate because I'm not sure I want to have to remove it for trans fluid changes.

I would highly recommend it due to cat theft. It's not like you will be pulling in for transmission service all the time.

The traditional t-taps and “scotchblocks” are damaging to the wire and the insulation - they can break stands (in already very small wires), cause weak spots, introduce an entry point for moisture, etc. The posi-taps are much better but are also bulky and can still potentially introduce a bind/kink point.

In other cases, I am actually needing to cut or “hijack” a factory wire to re-route it through an alternative system - such as the auto-fold relay on my power mirrors, and the upcoming manual reverse light switch.

So I have opted to make a break-out harness anywhere I am tapping or cutting factory wires, and then using solder joints for any splices an taps within those break-out harnesses.

So far since I added it the other day. It’s been charging my phone fine no problem. I definitely like having it because if I don’t need my phone plugged into the wire for GPS. I just put it in the console with my Apple Music on.

Thanks for the ideas. No skid plates here though.
I have some SuperLube silicone grease so I will have to give that a try. Looks like the only areas will be between the bar and bushing on the 2 frame mounting points.

Just re-tightened and checked all my Amp Power Step bolts. Also sprayed in lithium grease in the hinges to help with lubrication.

It's been pretty cold here but over the last couple weeks, my power step deployment has sometimes stopped short of full deployment. Figured it can't hurt to lube those hinges up.
