Did my first 10K oil change

I'm normally a 5-6k interval, but have done a ton of long trips since Christmas for grand total of 8,000 mi since Christmas Eve. Being that it was all highway and I was running synthetic 5W-30 I wasn't too worried about going 10K.

Oil came out not too dirty and still had good viscosity. Ran a strong magnet through the pleats of the filter and came up completely clean.

I also finally remembered to install the magnetic drain plug I've had the last 2 years.

I'm trying Castrol edge extended performance 5W30 for this fill will be interesting to see how it affects noise and fuel mileage.

Last fill was the Pennzoil Platinum.

80K in 5 1/2 years of ownership down, 200K and 20 more to go

Congràts! We're heading that direction too. We just paid off the mortgage on our primary home and have a year and a half left to go on the mountain vacation home. Perfect timing as I retire 2 years from now.

If I remember correctly there are a couple spots on the sway bar installation that could benefit from a little synthetic grease. I think the trd rear sway bar when you purchase it even came with a little tube. Hit those bushing up lightly. If it's not that and you have the trd skid plate it could definitely be that too.

    That's dope.

Our rate is so freaking low we may never try to pay it off early.
Currently its been better for us to buy stock (SPY mainly) and sell covered calls every week.

this is one of the cheap options... I actually only use the charging tray "pad" as I use these inserts everywhere else
(the tufskinz tray pad is much thicker and doesnt work)

Awesome. Thanks for the tip. Ad @mgm16trdpro said, you may wanna check the pro skid, if you have one. Mine was clunking until I used some nylon washers between the mounts.

I just paid mine off too. Only had the note a couple of weeks but at 8% I was not going to keep paying on that. Mortgage will have to go quite a few months with just the minimum...

Getting the truck and trailer loaded up for the Miami trip. Thinking maybe I'll air up the 295's a lot (55/65 instead of 38/38? will see how it handles). Maybe the weight of the bed and trailer will keep if from being too bouncy, and hopefully eke out an extra MPG

My rates were low on the house and the truck (2.5%), but I hate owning anyone anything. House has been paid off for a couple years. Wifes Subaru was financed at 0%, so we ran that one to term and was paid off in 2022.

Family member traded in his '21 1794 so I bought items he had on it at different points for the massive family discount ha. TRD Pro wheels with 5K E-load ATs, TRD Off-Road wheels with 5k P-metrics and a Corsa cat-back system. Swapped everything in about 3 hours. This is my first set of black wheels so it is taking me a little while to get used to them. If I can't I'll slap the originals back on. If I like them long-term, I may swap the badges over to black. Not interested in swapping to body color bumpers and all of that jazz. I'm loving the way the Corsa sounds! Throaty with no drone which is what Corsa is known for obvs. He had the red TRD center caps and the gold TOYOTA center caps from the Heritage Edition Land Cruiser. The red TRD caps clashed with Inferno Orange soon I slapped the much more subtle LC caps on.

It's all good. I'm going to try without the resonator for a bit. Not his fault in the least. I ordered a new exhaust gasket and may try some aluminum foil wrapped around the pipes (under the clamp) to tighten it all up.

Installed the TRD sway bar today, you can definitely feel the difference. Can't wait to tow the trailer and see what it feels like.

    Too many mods to come
In continuing the electrical draw issue I’ve confirmed the alternator is good and nothing from the engine bay fuse block is causing the issue. I have a feeling it’s the shotty wiring done by the previous owner for the frac harness to the factory head unit. I’ll continue this search next week while the wifes out of town. Probably add the new headlights also.

Moved the spare further back in the bed and added another hook. If we go camping then I’ll just push it back towards the cab. But for the majority of the time it’ll live here to keep that weight as far towards the rear as possible.

Messed around with this trying to get my controls working again:

After having the dash apart I only had cold and only on the windshield. I messed around with it all I had time and patience for. It moved the gears so I know it was lined up, but now nothing. Now I've only got heat and only on the windshield. I decided that'll have to do for now, but I need to get it sorted at some point. Another thing since I got my dash back together is the control screen only comes on after about a minute. I wish I never touched it. :frusty:

Check the build link in my signature.
Got my mirror “reverse” lights working again off the switch - replaced the power lead I had coming off my new distribution connector. There is no longer a single T-Tap connector anywhere in my entire truck with all of the add-on stuff that I have done. And I’m going to keep it that way moving forward.
    upload_2023-2-11_17-57-52.jpg

Revised the wiring on the Rago dash charger port to use a JST 2-pin connector for future access/disconnect.
    upload_2023-2-11_17-58-37.jpg

Put 0.020” (twenty thousandths) brass shim under the left screw of the Rago top plate to even out the gap to the dash along the back edge.
    upload_2023-2-11_17-59-45.jpg

And ordered the connector pair I need to make a break-out harness to hijack the rear reverse light power and run it through a SPDP relay to also work with the mirror reverse light manual switch.
