I did watch yours on removing the dash trim/components. It was helpful. Thanks a lot for that. I couldn't find one on removing the entire dash though.

I've got my entire dash and steering column removed from the truck, and components themselves disassembled. That's what I was referring to as taking 8 hours while taking my time.

I think I am ready to de-chrome the grille & surround. I didn't want to start a new thread, but I dont think this question has been asked but may have been answered if that makes sense. If I get a MGM bulge, surround, and grille from a 14-17 platinum, can I swap my 2019 SR5 insert with the TSS stuff into the 14-17 surround? Are the tabs etc in the same location?

Yep. The insert swap will work between the years. Just be careful with the tabs on the older one. Maybe hit them lightly with a heat gun before working on them.

Yes, the surround and bulge will fit into your existing grill with the TSS equipment, you wont have any issues.

Its also easy to paint the chrome bumper caps while you have the grille out. Gives you more access and less chance to get overspray on the new grille.
I just cleaned the chrome really well, then hit it with a couple coats of plasti-dip and followed up with bedliner in a can to create a protective shell.

I know you didn't ask about the bumper, but wanted to mention it before you put everything back together.

Thanks. That's a good point. I think I'm going to keep the bumper caps chrome now, just to have something that contrasts like the TRD OR wheels. But that could change.

I went about 4 months with my grille/bulge match with chrome caps. Finally went black and have had 0 regrets. But I don't have an OR with the chrome on the wheels, I get what you are saying. Good luck! It will look good.

Also, use an adjustable wrench when popping the insert from the surround, 1 part of the jaw on the tip of the clip and the other part of the jaw under the lip of the surround. Ensure the plastic is warm (either from the sun or heat gun, warm not melting) and apply a little pressure. Should make it easier to pop the insert (of course remove the screws before popping the clips).

I was just curious. It seems like a waste to me if there isn't a big safety reason for it.

Apple Lossless is actually a higher bit and sample rate. I don't know about wireless car play. I have wired Carplay and it's better than Bluetooth.

I thought the same thing, but for me just having a new head unit was a huge difference in sound. Plus the cd player doesn’t display any track information like CarPlay so I like the extra info.

I agree I like the Apple car play with the display. I know just changing out my headunit to aftermarket will change my whole system sound. All of my audio systems I had over the years in my Toyota’s all had aftermarket headunits. This is my first system with the factory JBL headunit.

Looks good how long did it take you to change it out? I guess the best time would be if you added a aftermarket headunit. Where did you purchase it?

Huge shoutout and thanks to @iHacker for his spectacular harness and Sparks for the LED headlight assembly which I received in 1 day! I pulled the old wore out OEM 'foggy glassed' headlights (which I was tired of cleaning and had horrible visibility) and finally was able to get everything installed today. As everyone has already attested to, if you can insert a plug you can use iHacker's harness and change out your crappy old headlight assemblies. I went strictly for the plug-n-play as I really didn't want to mess with anything else. All went as I had hoped. New MGM hood bump, TRD grill and MGM surround really round it out. I know I should have done the chrome bumper ends, but I think I will end up changing out the entire bumper. Next up, new wheels and tires, still have the original SR5 wheels and want something a bit more for this truck.
