Ordered a new exhaust tip. Current one is a bit rusty and is about 4” to far tucked under the bumper. I prefer it a bit farther out. Also got my weather pack connectors in so I can start tying in the fogs and reverse lights in the bumpers.

    Didn’t do shit to mine.
But helped my little brother put a new radio and backup camera in his 2005 DC.
So it was still a good day of Tundra mods

Swapped out the worn out boots on my SPC ball joints on my UCAs. Ended up being a pretty easy, but messy, job.

I got them secondhand. The driver side was fine and probably could have left it, but the passenger side was losing grease pretty bad and was probably torn. It doesn’t sound like they need to get changed often.

Nothing too fancy, got to use the new bike rack to take the truck out for camping. Camped in the new year.

Looks awesome! What bed cover and rack are you using? This is something I’d be looking for in the near future.

The bedcover is the RetraxPro. Cross bars and raved rack are Yakima. The bike rack is the Yakima Swing mount. I was very skeptical of the swing mount until this trip. Definitely works as advertised and it’s very stout.

Next up on my mods list is lights (ditch lights and light bar). I have those already, waiting on switchpro and mounting tray to be delivered before I start all the wiring.

Drove home from hunting last night. There are so many fuel economy threads, I decided the last couple days to see just how well I can do. What is pictured below is normal for me if I keep it under the speed limit and stay off cruise control through the Tennessee hills. This means I stay in a right lane and my speed will fluctuate (I’ll let it drop a few mph instead of shift down to 5th or 4th like cruise control would do immediately). I’m using tires that are 8.4% larger (LT285/75R18 vs 275/65R18) in diameter and 25 lb heavier than stock. This 8.4% number appears to be consistent with the difference between my dash and GPS. I run 40 psi in my tires. I also have a static load in the bed of around 300 lb with my retractable bed cover, 2nd battery, and Plano trunk full of recovery tools. Corrected for tire size and assuming my GPS is accurate, this is 19.4 mpg. Better than the 18.5 I posted before. I still average around 16 on the entire tank due to how much city driving I do. I have zero complaints with fuel economy.

Installed the SSO Slimline Hybrid. Of
course no install goes as planned when I begin a project. Still have some modifications to make so the winch clutch can be turned completely, but overall I’m ok with the outcome.

Where do you get these? I'm assuming they're to give you a place for wiring once you start adding a lot of extra electrical components.

I guess it’s time for a 4Knines back seat cover. I think the wife was saying something without saying something with this pic.

Might be the angle of the photo but is the passenger side not as flush as the driver side?

In person it definitely it is more flush than the photo displays. It also sits slightly closer to the drivers side and could also have to do with how I was able to align the plastic bumper back on.

Please don’t activate my OCD. I did the best I could:(.

Yes, that part was not fun. The factory bumper being more flimsy due to the cut out got me for a while. I had to touch up my cuts a few times because I didn’t cut enough the first go round and the trim wouldn’t seat well. All in all, it’s not perfect but works and looks good to me. I’ll tackle the clutch lever when I get my bracket for the control box.

Moved Tundra into the garage. Noticed my headliner was wet on one side. Turns out I didn't do a good job sealing the Front Runner rack on install. It actually rains where I live now...as in days in a row (compared to the desert). Correcting the issue tomorow.

Overlandequipped.com I have the same setup. I bought the bracket from them but got the Blue Sea CB and Blue Sea fuse block from Amazon. Overland does sell it as a kit if you want a one stop shop.

Thanks. Too much, I'm afraid...but still worth it. Wasn't lucky enough to pick up a used set. Got it all new (shocks, speed sensor bracket, cushions, and hardware) for about $3050 shipped. Did all the work myself except the alignment & zero point calibration...$70 for that.
