Fabbed up a DYI crossbin

I had an old hitch hauler. I bought it over 15 years ago and probably haven’t used it in over 10yrs. I almost trashed it a few years ago but buried in my garage instead

I took some flat bar stock and bent it so I could hang over the bed rails under my Diamondback cover. Then bolted them to the deck rails so that they are supported in both places. Cut them off to about a six inch drop and bolted on some L brackets. Then laid some angle across that. Then dropped in the hitch hauler.

it gives me about 4” to 5” of storage for small tools, straps, etc. and has enough clearance for my storage bins.

I am. I’m going one size up so I don’t have to trim anything. Going to 285/70R18s.

 

I think that is really two sizes - 275/70 18 is one size up and about halfway between 275 65 and 285 70.

 

I love that stuff! Been using it for a while now and it really helps reduce hard water spots from forming on well water. Also keeps the paint looking freshly waxed. Highly recommend it!

 

My tires are 275/65s so I thought it was one size. Either way, 285/70s are what I’m going for. I just haven’t figured out which ones I like best. Nitto and Toyo are the top contenders but I’ve only looked at about four brands.

I’m running the 285 70 Nitto RGs and have been happy. It’s an oddball size so you won’t find a ton of options. You’ll probably need to pull the air spats and maybe trim the splash guard if you have the one with large side wings. NBD.

Tidying up some stuff in the engine bay. Billet hose clamps for the heat exchanger lines and the 50 hp addition of the K&N filter for the Prospeed catch can.

Got the same lights, I tapped in to the side marker lights. The backlight only comes on when the automatic lights come on or I turn headlights on.

I’m on my second set… wet traction on pavement and wet braking are terrible - otherwise the perfect tire for my use. Good thing I live in the desert.
