5.29s, once you experience it you can't go back, at 80mph I'm still at 2300rpm, I can't really tell the difference on engine rpm at cruising speed, if you floor it at hwy speed it'll pick up and fly like a pissed off ape too, if you keep the stock size, I think you can break into high 12s, I'm waiting to set a day away to head to nearest 1/4 mile track to verify my vbox's reading.

What I'm hearing is I need to convince the "boss" that I need an SC and 5.29's to improve my mpg...
I think I can make the math work.

I've seen a few grand for install I plan on installing mine myself. You can source the kit cheaper if you keep an eye out for it. I saved about $2k

My last tundra had 298k miles on it when I traded it in.
I’m at 36k now on this one. I’m averaging 13.7mpg.
    262k miles at 13.7mpg = 19,124 gallons
    262k miles at 16mpg = 16,375 gallons
That’s a savings of 2,749 gallons over the next ~10 years
    At $5/gallon, that’s $13,745.

Of course, the SC probably leads to other increased maintenance. And does it require higher grade gas (I’ve seen/heard conflicting info here)? If so, that cuts into the savings…

It took me + 1 person nearly 20hours, but that's us taking sweet time and doing it over almost a week and half, double checking everything, I consider myself an amateur at home mechanic at best, it's definitely DIY-able, for costs, I've had quote from $1500 up to $4000.

You do need octane 91, it also make towing so effortless, imagine a Cummins that likes to rev, I've merge from a complete stand still with 9k trailer to hwy speed without sweat, maintenance it depends, I know guys with Harrops like @nobodyintexas had some minor issue with the coolant pump, on Magnuson I've had zero issues so far, some have issue with the coupler making noise but you can replace it with this ( https://superchargersonline.com/product/toyota-trd-magnuson-tunder-coupler-replacement-kit-updated/ ) .

Whatever this forum told me to do
    yup

minor issues...coolant pump mysteriously would stay on...kinda fixed now. hasn't done it in months after I beat on the relay.
vacuum leak - all good now. installer used the wrong hose under blower snout.

other than premium fuel...no increase in maintenance. I even use the same Kirkland 0w-20 oil.

Yeah - I’m more concerned about long term reliability. Seems it’s just more things to possibly go wrong. I know the NA 5.7 married to the 6-Speed will go 300k because I’ve personally witnessed it.

@snivilous has 270k miles on his truck, I've seen one with 600k km on it and that truck had the TRD kit since day 1 and the owner isn't exactly kind to the truck, there's also a few on here that have had them for nearly 300k miles without any issues.

Actually a handful of miles from 275k :bananadance: and you bet your ass I was still bouncing it off the rev limiter yesterday merging onto the interstate and letting the boosty bois sing.

You guys are helping ease my concerns, but not my bank account…
I wonder if I can convince work that they need to authorize me for premium fuel…

Dropped off my tundra at the shop for a rear bumper respray due to a minor parking lot hit. The other party’s insurance was nice enough to get me a Tacoma rental. Wow, what a slug. It feels very well built, but that engine is bad in a truck.

Today I installed identification stickers with a unique serial number on each of my four catalytic converters. The ID stickers are part of a pilot program in Minnesota to discourage theft by allowing law enforcement a method to tie the converter directly back to a specific vehicle for criminal charges. The stickers are issued free of charge by most local sheriffs offices within MN. The heat from the converter permanently etches the number onto the unit. Next I’m installing Valhalla shields, again as a deterrent, so with the combination of ID numbers and theft shields I have been as proactive as possible in one of the worst states for cat theft. Oh, and I avoid Minneapolis/St. Paul at all costs.
