The last piece of the puzzle arrived today. Can’t wait to get home and do some unboxing!

Yep, POS. Kept moving my axle up and down, and the shackles didn’t seem to budge. So I figured I had to take my hammer to it… so those shackles are done for, unless if there’s a way to press out those 17mm bolts.

Solid bath and a fresh coat of wax.

I am considering the Black Exhaust Tip. Do I NEED it? :-D. Thinking it may round off the blacked out SX. See last photo.

Does anyone have a pic to share with it on their black truck?

Also planning to order/add the driver’s side grab handle soon.

for anyone considering diy rust prevention, i recommend CRC Marine. Last fall, I cleaned surface rust with Must for Rust , hit it with rust reformer, and then topped it with a coat of CRC Marine. Noticeable difference compared a spot I left untreated. No photos ATM but can snap a few if desired.

On the black exhaust tip; if you're OCD about washing your truck, it'll be great. It collects and holds dirt, though; so if you wash on a more casual schedule :anonymous: it'll look more brown than black most of the time.

    Still better than chrome, though.

My brown truck was a bright yellow green 12 hours after a hard rain washed it, and my yard is littered with flowers like you have there. Since the Live Oak is in my front yard, I can't really complain too much; but man I feel you on that.

I to did not like the way I thought they would look or the fact that the vent itself looked like it would have been recessed (ever so slightly), so I sent them back. Going to see what else is out there?

What's that p/n if you have it handy. My father in-law has been missing that piece for a few years and it bothers him. I just assumed it was part of the grille and never looked for it.

When I was messing with the Trex grill one of the tabs broke and the other one was weak. I put it on when I went back to the stock grill and I guess it didn't want to stay. It's funny because a day or two later I saw something fly by the windshield. Now I know what it was

I put a new battery in today. Thanks to this forum, I put the right one in. This weekend I’ll have to give the truck a good cleaning inside and out. 86FE71EF-EE4D-4035-B264-5BEFABE91F26.jpg

I have the black exhaust tip. Came with the truck. I like it! Gets dirty for sure but usually just a haze of grey to it. This is also following a recent snow with no wash. In warm weather it stays mostly black.

    Ain’t done shit lately.

Actually that’s sort of a lie. I test fit some whips.

Still need to do final wiring and plumb/level the whip mounts before OCD buries me in the ground.

Oil Change: Amsoil SS 0W20, Amsoil filter, BG synthetic oil additive, and I changed out the plastic filter housing to the Toyota OEM aluminum version. I was impressed by how much smoother the metal one went on. I could tighten it all the way down by hand and then just a quick snug with the ratchet. I already had the Fumoto installed from a past change.

I'm also getting better at skid plate removal every time.

Picked up my truck from Westcott Designs this afternoon. Dual ARB compressor installed with quick connect and mounted with the SDHQ mount. VERY tight fit, but it works with the larger Magnuson airbox. They also fixed a very minor coolant leak I've been having issues with for a while. New Denso spark plugs installed and also got my Coachbuilder Steering Kit installed from the recent group buy and an alignment completed afterwards. They used my truck for one of their YouTube videos - I'll share the link once it's available. Really happy with the way everything turned out. Been a long time customer of theirs and have nothing but positive things to say about their work.
