So I guess a cheap solution to getting work implements out of the cab is how a storage obsession begins…. Lord help me.

Just FYI, there’s a couple grooves in the bed that are perfectly designed to fit a 2x8 or 2x10 as a divider…if you want something more sturdy than the bungee.

That’s actually something I had entertained. That ratcheting aluminum pole was Walmart cheap and keeps that crate, which was just a little too big for that rearmost 2 by groove to contain, close to the tailgate for easy as hell access. Plus, if we’re splitting hairs, by the time I pay for a 2x6x8, the pole, that I can put anywhere in the bed, was only about $2 more.

True. The lumber prices have been nutty. I get the pole idea.
After years of having the truck, I just figured out those 2x slots being there. I think I saw it on here, then had a Griswald Christmas lights moment where it clicked. Ha!
I now have two 2x8’s I’ve been waiting for the right weather so I can get them painted and put in.

I used to use a board in those slots, but I like the ratchet pole better because I can place it exactly where I want it for different sized loads.

1k oil change with Fumoto valve and metal filter cap put in, then I really went for it and successfully installed my Cat Shields front and rear and it was kind of interesting the two front holes where you need to drill already partially existed and only needed to widen them a little. The directions were actually spot on from Catshields after installing an aftermarket exhaust mod to my SeaDoo and then this really feeling productive to the nth degree this week :D IMG_0735.jpg IMG_0737.jpg

Finally got the Roadmaster active suspension system on. Lifted my truck about 1“ and dang, its a smooth ride, no wheel bounce going empty over train tracks. Will test em out in coming days pulling my equipment float. Am i glad i didnt settle for sumos or timbrens.
The road salt up here in Ontario is bad. Cant keep the undercarriage clean for too long.

Check this picture below from the AJT install video. The problem isn’t with getting all the small parts cut out, it’s with the back lighting. I doubt it would shine through black vinyl.

What I would do is just wrap everything matte black vinyl, then use my cricut to cut out the small pieces & stick them back ontop where they go. The cool part about doing it that way (like I did with my shifter area) is that you can make whatever you want, in whatever font you want. Or just make up a totally new design! Like you don’t need the blue & red line running necessarily, you can put anything there to indicate that’s the cold/hot knob. Totally custom. The cricut can handle something like that because you print it all separate & place it wherever you want it.

You can cut out the smaller holes on the buttons with the truck circulation, ac & defrost. That way they would shine through, but I doubt anything else would be illuminated at night if you covered it. Plus, if it did & you didn’t copy the exact design back ontop, it wouldn’t match up anyways.

You got me thinking though :monocle:

Yeah it's a tough one for sure. I actually stopped at Michael's on the way home and looked at the Cricut machines. They had 3 or 4 different models. I swear a fifth of the store was rolls of Cricut vinyl at buy one and get on 50% off.

Lol I think I have the “air 2”? It’s paid for itself since I’ve had it. I got tired of paying for stickers on my truck, coolers etc. So now I just make whatever I want, custom size/color anything really.

Someone earlier said you have to have an account & can’t do custom logos or something. Idk I literally pull any image from google & if you know basic photoshop you’re good. I upload all my own images into it. I’ve never used the actual software other than for spacing or text entry.

Ordered a Vled footwell light kit on Friday and it showed up today. That is some quick shipping from Washington to Ma... I ordered a front kit, and 2 rear kits. I'm planning on sticking 2 of the lights in my under seat storage box.

Not what I did but my truck surprised me today it now identifies as a Prius. Just in time for the rise in fuel prices.
