After 6 weeks she’s arrived. Easy install too. No pics of it installed yet though. Thinking on getting the LCA skids too.

I used the @Caliraisedled brackets and some cheap eBay specials. I did have to drill out the mounting holes the the light housing and tap them to a bigger size as they stripped out before they could even tighten to the bracket. So far I’m happy with them.

I used large fender washers I had laying around. They seem to work fine.

really like the color options. the white is like 5000k, not too blue or annoying. haven't tried them at night yet.

    Looks awesome!

Not too sure on the color temp of the tundra version, but if it's like most of his tacoma stuff and components, I think he's posted it around the 5500k range ~ for the white

So what started with a free winch assy, ended up with this type of install. Going over board should be my middle name. Of course the fiancé is asking why am I doing all this, so I explained it all to her, and she replies "So you're just playing?". Yes dear, that is correct.

Test fitting on its new support bracket, after removing the nasty steel cable that was on it. New synthetic line on order
    20220101_175749.jpg

    Gonna need power back here:
    20220108_133115.jpg

With easy quick connects, the winch will have this also, and I will add them to my jumper cables.

    20220108_133123.jpg

Wiring coming up to the battery. My plan is to hook up the negative cable, leaving the positive one unconnected till I need it, then just bolt it on in a minute or so. This makes me feel better about something taking out the wire while I drive, or if I get rear ended.

    20220108_140234.jpg

Wiring coming down the firewall to makes it's connection with the frame. Fender liner splash removed in this photo, was able to use that stud as amounting point for it with another flat washer and nut to hold it in place.
    20220108_142334.jpg

    Wires mounted along the frame
    20220110_150332.jpg

The wires as they made their way to the underside of bed then onward to the rear bumper
    20220110_150339.jpg

Yes I am using some pretty big wires to feed back there, once I started looking at the amp ratings of the winch, I decided to go big or go home. I feel pretty confidant that I can run this winch or any other one with the amount of power I can handle.

23 feet each of red and black 1/0 wire
20 stainless steel with rubber protectors
12 stainless steel bolts, nuts, washers, lock washers
2 sets of batter quick connects 1/0 terminals
    Shit ton of zip ties

And roughly 15 hours into it so far.

Are you mounting it to the hitch? Will it be removable? That's going to be some impressive fab work if this is the case. Looks like a great project.

No that's one of those hitch mounted winch brackets you can get anywhere. The one I got seems super stout and should work just fine for the few times it'll get used

This is on my to do list - Mainly so I can wire up a winch to a small utility trailer that I have and run the quick connects just like you have them. Nice write up. Did you buy one of the quick connect kits or did you just buy individual wires?

    Too many, but not enough....
I love this! Big fan of overkill. I was thinking to do something like this too since those harbor freight winches are so cheap, wanted to get a small 9K maybe just to use in the back. I have a front 12k but like i said, i like overkill lol

I bought a quick connect kit that had 4 ends in it, along with the metal connectors., then I bought 25 feet of wire in each color. And also bought cable ends to mount on the battery.

So not really a kit. Parts and pieces. Some I bought, some I had on my xmas lists that family bought for me. Seems to be working out fine. I did think I was going to go with a 4 gauge set up, then looked up amp draws for the winch, decided that would be too small. So I did return a bunch of stuff :(

Wait till I redo my front bumper. The plan is a hidden hitch behind the license plate so that I can place the stinger on the hitch into it, and another quick connect to power it. Working on getting all the metal acquired for that project. Should be sweet, if I can replicate what I have in my head so far.
