Drilled out the rivets on the spare tire brackets in preparation for my full size spare.

That’ll be my job next spring to fit a 35 under there. Hopefully I don’t get a flat before then… :fingerscrossed:

Nice! I’m just waiting for my spare tire to come in. It “should” be here next week. Hopefully I don’t get a flat in the meantime too. Lol

I swapped my 2020 Sport 275/55/20 OE setup w 2021 275/65/18 Trail Edition wheels/tires recently bought from a fellow member.

The plan is to rotate the 20s for spring-fall and 18s for winter. I’ll eventually get 295/70/18 but these Michelin’s have a season left.

    A few fun facts:
    • A Tundra lug nut uses a 22mm socket
    • I had to donkey kick 3 of the tires off the hub after removing all lugs (2020, 4300 miles)
    • Read page 509 of the users manual and then improvise
    • 97 foot lb torque for alloy wheels (I hope these are alloy lol)
    • TPMS from 2021 key start does not work with a 2020 push start apparently (thanks Toyota, like the trans cooler)
    Washed before install

Your leaf springs are looking flat. Is there a gap under the top leaf on the forward side? My springs are shot at 13K miles.

Did you install carbon fiber pillar tape? My tint installer wiped my driver side when I said not to and scratched mine all to hell. Just thought I’d ask how the install went

I’ll check. Figured the leaf looked flatter because it was jacked up during the tire change.

Is your truck still under warranty? Is that something Toyota will replace?

It's a 2020 but they won't replace them due to the lift. However, Toyota springs are very weak and are almost flat when new.

Reinstalled some RGBs behind the grille after the last one shorted out. This time I siliconed around the driver, I think that’s where moisture got in. Hooked up to the footwell light so they come on with the slider lights. They alternate all colors from left to right, have a Knight Rider effect with a single color, or a few other animations. They’re made for headlights, but when mounted parallel, they work in unison. What exactly needs to be cut to fit a 35" spare tire under there? I'd like to do that as well.

Busy afternoon. TRD front sway bar, TRD front skid, reinstall the Valhalla’s Shield skids and installed CaliRaised step edition sliders. Only about 6 bolts were easy, the rest were a PITA.

Installed a circuit breaker to my AMP Power Steps that acts as a power cutoff switch. I have the override switch from AMP, but the 30 minute time limit just doesn’t cut it. The steps got really annoying when I was on a weeklong car camping trip a few months ago. Now I just pop the hood and hit the breaker and the steps are completely cut off from power.

Sorry about your truck. Thieves are awful. The cheap Amazon safe with the bent corner that is sold by several different retailers is solid for the money. It is a half safe. I think I spent $100 on it.

And today is Cyber Monday. Here is basically the same thing I have:

It fits my ‘21 just fine.
    The idea is twofold:

    • There is nothing left out on the seats, on the console, etc. that might invite a smash-n-grab thief to smash and then grab, and
    • If someone does decide to smash, all of the important stuff (insurance, registration, expensive multitool, expensive flashlight, extra magazine, etc) is locked up and not able to be grabbed after said smash.

Yes they probably would but they would not have my stuff as they did in this case. Glass deductible of $200 is way cheaper than wallet, dash cam, radar detectors etc.

I just tried the BLK2021 free shipping code but it caps at -$150 off. I'm trying to order a TRD skid plate and the shipping is still in the $300 range after the discount.

If this problem is so common, I wonder why Toyota hasn't issued a recall or something? Or, is Toyota just depending on most folks not noticing and just living with a problem they don't know they really have? I sure don't want to replace my leaf springs any time soon, but I do tow frequently and your posts sure have me worrying about it now. :(
