What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

how was doing the middle console? i hate my chrome shift gate and cup holder trim, not because it's chrome, but because of the ridiculous glare.

 

I was just looking at these today. How is the operational feel of the switches? I saw an older post of a Tacoma guy complaining that they didn't feel as good as OEM and that the black was also shinier than the dash. How long did it take to get them once you ordered them? Thanks.

 

Do they dim along with the factory dash lights?

 

You did not steer me wrong. The Discount Tire price match of Wally World at $230 per tire was fabulous. I was worried whether a full spare would fit under the bed but it does. Definitely not as high brow of a ride but not as tough as I thought they would be. Noisier than the princess Dunlops but not terrible noise. So far I like the Falkens.

 

The two I got operate very smooth, way better than the Amazon ones (I think Nilight?) I replaced. As far as the finish, yeah they’re a little more satin than matte, but I can’t see any switch panels in my truck when I’m driving to be bothered, and they look close enough to the rear window switch to work.

 

I assume so, but haven’t checked that. They run off the illumination circuit and should behave like the OEM ones.

 

I removed one side of my bushwacker fender flares and I think I like it... will put back the mud flaps if I do.... what do you all think?

 

Glad to hear it! Moving to an AT from stock was bound to cause more noise, but I don't think I notice it with the DD exhaust on there.

I have still not got the new TPMS to register - How do you drive 25 mph for 10-30 minutes?

Lol. Just drive over 25 and keep hard turns to a minimum. I'd hop on the Belt Route if it's close to you.

 

shift gates a joke. take off handle snaps in place. cup holder super easy. the bigger surround arould shift handle a little bit of a pain because you have to drill out plastic

Both fantastic additions! Dealer also washed the truck after fixing a small leak at the third brake light.

 

I have the Toytecs set at 3” up front and have the +2 CB shackles and have just under 1”forward rake unloaded to give you an idea. Not sure what the eibach’s are set at though.

Thank You! I wanted to get away from the fake beadlock/lip rivet look, also smaller center cap with exposed lugs and these checked all the boxes.

 

It's USPS First Class, so it's a your mileage may vary situation... I ordered on Sunday and got them today, but they shipped from California. They did get them in the mail the next day, though, so it's at least not held up by them.

 

That's not bad. I was just curious because the parent company is located in Australia so I wasn't sure where they shipped from.

On today’s menu……Delicious TRD Dual Exhaust. Now that was a Fun mod. My first time playing around with the exhaust and very much to my surprise it was super easy.
First thing I did was spray paint the pipe ends so it’s all black on the part of the pipe that shows.

Everything came apart easily since the truck is brand new. No soapy water for the hangers, they all easily pulled apart and the new parts went back in no problems.

Although the new bracket and hanger on the drivers side was a pain to fit my hands into since I didn’t lower the spare. Very tight area so I just took my time.

Install took around 2 hours. I did one step, stopped to read the next step and then the next. So I’m sure if I ever did it again it would take half the time. I used a tie down strap, one of those thumb release jobs, so as soon as the muffler was unbolted it didn’t drop whatsoever. Then with the press of my thumb it slowly came down to the ground. Worked great and better than coming down on my head!

Definitely recommend another person tho, after I was done I did notice that the passenger side is a little lower. So next time I have a helper around I’ll loosen up one side, have them hold the exhaust tip in the correct position and then while they hold it I’ll retighten it up. Shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes.

I really enjoyed doing this mod. Easy peasy……even a girl can do it. Hahahahahehehehe

Couple different things, started in a radar unit, then weapons systems, to gun ships. Crazy how fast the tech changes. My radar unit we now immediately lock on and missiles on the way. Glad that ain’t me/us anymore

They aren’t wired to dim like the dash lights. That’s my only complaint. The illumination and power on them share ground so it’s really not possible. I tore one apart to see if I could, but it would require modifying the PCB

 

thanks. The only way might be to ground it with the illumination circuit.. but then the LED when you hit the switch would reflect differently, or maybe not illuminate if the parking lights aren’t on.
Just a thought..
