These are rock sliders. A little more than just door ding prevention. They aren't cheap but awesome quality

The culprit was a small crack in the housing around the entire circumference of the positive post. Must be letting the gasses out right underneath the terminal. Sealed it up temporarily but time for a new battery.

If I remember correctly, @ColoradoTJ said Toyota batteries are warranted for 7 years. Might wanna run it by the dealer and see if they'll throw a new one in.

    1. Most important, the design of the footbed. It's narrow and I hit the support on the front side. It's a toe step at best.

    2. The metal is shit as compared to say Nfab. Imported steel I'm betting.

    3. The finish is shit. Mine arrived with flaws and a new set is/was on the way.

    4. They flex under weight.

    5. See one

Edit: you both "like them" and that's cool, but as compared to what other steps / bars you've owned?

Did yours come as a one piece unit with the tailgate section? The rep told me they are switching to a one piece build in mind April.

Sweet ass build. I'm still jelly of those wheels/tires :jellydance:. Color matched handles and mirrors look fantastic on MGM if you're so inclined.

I've never owned another set of steps similar to those. The only thing i've ever had were nerf bars that came with the truck. I've never installed another type of bar/step until today and i put on a set of PP engineering's type 4s, which there really isn't any comparison there. These sliders i have now are for a specifically designed for a different function all together.

When i say i like them, i have never had them on a truck but like the design from photos and from just having them laying in the hall. You obviously have more exposure to their quality than i do. I like the way they look, not necessarily from experience of having them on the truck.

Hopefully they will grow on you

Thanks. I like the streamlined look compared to the factory step bars that I took off. I don't need sliders but I have yet to find a plain ol' nerf bar.

Ended up pulling the battery completely out. The + lead was corroded to the post so I used a metric ton of baking soda/water and a wire gun brush that has both wide and narrow bristles. Still needed to use a screwdriver to pry the lead off it. More baking soda and scrubbing then sandpaper (it was that bad), sealed the crack, added pads and sprayed it with red.

    Yep they look great.

The finish on my example of one wasn't adhering as PC should. It's primed below.

The step should sit more proud vs in a box between two angled in square pieces of tubing. They work but you have to hit them just right. Time will tell

Not that you'll need to do it again..but pour very hot water on the terminals/connectors and it works magically.

No, these are the first steps I've installed. I had neft bars on a truck a hundred years ago - they were ok, but I can't stand the tubular look.

I more often than not don't use the step, I don't need it. That being said, my wife and kids do use them and there hasn't been a single complaint, in fact the opposite.

Don't know enough about metal to be able to comment on that aspect, but the fit and finish on mine are good.

Not sure what the flex deal is, but yesterday I picked up a buddy before heading to the lake - he's about 6'2" and weights about 275#'s. As he trashed is knee, I stood there to assist if needed, and purposely watched the bar because he's a big mofo - and it didn't budge at all when he was on it.

Seems to me if you don't like them as much as you say, why not send them back and get something else?
