Installed this...what a PITA! Alot of bulge on, bulge off.

 

Added 1/4” aluminum cat plates. I had them powder coated a similar textured light grey to try and match the TRD skid… they seem to cover everything up well enough. Nice to have for piece of mind and parking over long grass!

 

Almost had my cats stolen in Scottsdale AZ during a road trip. Ordered the desert eagle plate but haven’t installed it yet. I have to cut out notches for the TRD skid plate. How difficult was the install for you and did it work well with the skid plate?

 

Man, I’m sorry to hear that!

I fit it with room to spare using the trd skid bolts. I unthreaded the nut on the top to the very last thread or two to get the plate to flex downward as far as possible. Then you can wedge your new plate in using the notches and it’ll hang nicely while you catch your breath.

The hardest part is you have to sneak your 15mm wrench awkwardly almost elbow deep through small openings on each side near the lca’s to hold the lock nut in place while you tighten the bolt head below. Working by myself, my impact gun was helpful to zip it in quick. The passenger side is harder because of the oil pan. It’s possible though—good luck!

The rest of the bolts that come with the skids are super easy and accessible in comparison haha

Thanks for the tips, I’ve heard the two TRD bolts are tough to get to. My local dealer quoted $6000 to replace cats, so a plate and elbow grease definitely worth it!

They just don't look right without the trailer of lawn equipment behind them or sheets of sheetrock sticking out of the bed .

Although those are not Valhalla plates (see logo), go with Valhalla in the link above to get the original. These appear to be "based" upon the Valhalla design.

 

I wanted to get the Valhalla, but their website said 4+ weeks wait time so I found another brand that looked similar. I had them at my door in 5 days. Edit <link removed>

What will you be using to see the IR light? I've always been intrigued to try a set up like this on my runner. Go bombing down some back roads with all my lights off except for the IR.
