Have you driven it put back together and does it make an appreciable difference in road noise?

Don't know why some people think it's a loud lock. Well, maybe if you have your ear right against the tailgate when you hit the lock button, then yeah it would be loud.

Do you happen to have the parts number for the 3rd gen OEM tailgate lock?

Changed the oil at 1500 miles and collected a sample to black rock labs for fun. Used Mobile-1 0W20 and oem filter...it went mostly good except that my drain pan was a bit shallow and splashed oil everywhere.

Also installed the TRD pro skid plate, but I was missing one M10 nuts for the rear bolt.:annoyed: so I ordered a replacement hardware set and will wait to drive it until I get that put on.

Was finally able to give the Tundra a much needed washing. Even cleaned the wheels which is a rarity. Used a spray on hybrid ceramic wax from Turtle Wax for the first time and the stuff worked great. Sprayed it on while the truck was wet and dried it off with microfiber towels. Will be using this stuff from now on.

Thanks again for the info. I'm going to do some looking around and see what I can wrangle up. Still trying to figure out if I want to "buy once cry once" or "buy twice and cry harder the second time because I didn't like the first one" lol

What do you mean by clamping to the frame? If I don't go with a true "slider", these are too of the list so far I think.

I have the Desert Eagle plate as well. I have the Valhalla rear plate. I have the UnderCover SE as well. The over the rail design is better against leaks compared to tri-folds.

Hi Tyler. What fender flares are those? Looks like you were able to keep the OEM mud flaps. I have not seen that with the pocket/rivet style flares.

Well it took almost 5 months but I finally did it. Installed my puddle lights. It was a pain only because I couldn't figure out the wiring but finally figured it out. On to the next project.

Wired up a light from Hardkorr on my hatch glass. I made up some connections to the switch in a little junction box inside the shell, and then ran the wire along the frame rail and into a fuse tap for constant power source.

It was extra work to cut up the wiring for the fancy switch it came with, but it lets me dim and change it from amber to white :D

DIY front camera. Would have saved tons of labor with the plug and play FRAC kit but I already had the anytime backup camera from another project so I wanted to just add front cam as cheap as possible. Can't wait to try it offroad.

Nothing major but swapped out the headlights with nicer Sylvania bulbs. Debating on which new headlight assembly I want to go with so I didn't want to spend a bunch just to throw it away. As we are creeping towards longer days here in the PNW, I won't need then until the fall anyways.
