Got my driver side grab handle kit in and installed. Took about 5 minutes and now I have to get used to not grabbing the steering wheel to climb in.

    Sparks parts kit, super easy.

Did you wrap your bumpers yourself? If so, how much vinyl did you have to order? I'm thinking about wrapping my bumpers and grille surrounds in a flat black to get rid of the chrome.

Yes, I have wrapped all the parts myself. I ordered 5’x10’ to do it all and still have quite a bit left. I too did my grill surround. It was a PiTa. I wanted a cushion for mistakes. I can definitely say that I have gotten much more proficient at it since I started. My best piece of advice is to heat and stretch it way more than you think you would.

Having this be my first try at wrapping, which part would you say was the easiest to start with? I have a heat gun and will buy all the stuff I need to do it. I have been watching videos about it too.

Also, when it is all finished, will it hold up to automatic car washes and such? I feel like it should, but just wanted to ask.

I think the back bumper is easiest and most forgiving. It’s very durable. I take it through the car wash every week. I used Oracal 970ra from metrorestyling. It was $100 for all the vinyl. This was my first time doing it.

Got distracted while cleaning the garage. Quick coat of paint on the pipe. I'll pull the whole pipe off this week to make it blend with the DD system.20210224_132423.jpg 20210224_133106.jpg

Soo.... went back to the dealership this morning. My truck was on the lift without wheels for about 2 hours.... apparently the tech that worked on it yesterday was new and had never balanced the TSS wheels. He didn't attach them to the balancer correctly so it threw off the balance on every wheel. Also didn't set the cap under the oil filter housing correctly so that's why I saw oil dripping.
    20210224_104755.jpg

But they got it sorted and truck drives correctly now so I think I can relax. Going to give it a few more drives before I put the color lugs back on. Those are a pain to remove lol

Did your kit come with install instructions? I bought the same kit and it only came with operating instructions and not install. I was going to install the kit myself vs have the dealer do it but it's not readily apparent to me where all of the connectors go to.

This is why I service my own truck, glad it was an easy fix.
Did you use high temp paint? I'm going to have to do this when I get my BAMuffler.

Casey, do you happen to have a copy if the install instructions? My kit only came with operating instructions and not any install instructions.

Jesus. How hard is it to watch a new tech. prove they can carry out simple maintenance tasks before they’re cut loose to work on someone’s expensive investment? Unreal. I wouldn’t blame the tech so much as I’d be pissed at the service manager.

This was my last time having them do it. I plan to do it moving forward but also needed one this week and didn't have the time to do it myself. Lesson learned lol

Such an easy mod! I kept procrastinating over it, and then got it done in 15 minutes! Sparks parts kit came with all the necessary parts, including the U nuts and longer bolt. You're right, the hardest part is relearning how to get in! Feels great when it becomes a habit!

Yeah... conversations were had and the GM was also involved. We are marking this as a learning experience for many folks there and they are working to compensate me for my time. It sucks it happened but they are making it right, so I'm more annoyed than angry.
But now that I have the truck back, I think I might have had a balance issue for the past 2.5 years. The steering wheel had a slightly vibration that I just attributed to the BFG KO2s but I wasn't feeling that vibration now lol
