Hey @Clemshady - checking in to see how your SP install worked out; this is the same place I was going to put mine. Also, if you have any other install tips, I’d really benefit from hearing them; where on the firewall you fished the wiring through, specific challenges wiring the Tundra, extra things you may have added like wire heat shielding, etc.

I am loving the SwitchPro. It wasn't a bad install at all. You will have to pull your grill off and driver side headlight for easier access. The hardest part for me was cutting the rubber nipple in the firewall. Extremely hard to access while trying to cut it. As far as fishing the main power cable that powers in cab switch and the light blue wire, I had a cable feeder that I use for cable and speaker wiring in my house. I taped both above mentioned wires to it with electrical tape, lubed it up with dish soap, and pushed it through from the cab side. I wouldn't de-pin the connector like instructions suggested, pain in the ass to put back together. Another head scratcher for me was where to run the light blue wire for constant power. I ended up adding more length to the light blue wire and running it under driver side door seal, under driver's seat, and tapping into 12V power in center console underneath. Everything else just falls into place. Main thing is make sure you disconnect both battery terminals while working so you don't mess anything up. I didn't follow your question on heat shielding, did you mean for the actual connections to your accessory wires? If you have any issues holler at me, I can try to walk you through it and take pictures of mine if needed. Good luck, you got this!!

Edit: I re-read your question about wiring, I made a trip to Harbor Freight and got heat shrink tubing and butt connectors that allow you to shrink down with heat gun. I placed shrink tubing over all connections to protect against moisture. I also used wire loom to wrap all wires. I highly recommend getting positaps to tap into any wires under console and driver side parking light. So much easier IMHO.

Now that you’ve had those flares mounted for a couple months, how well is that rubber holding up? Is it working well enough that some clear protective film underneath isn’t needed?

Amazon has Falken Wildpeaks in 285/75/18 for $258 with free shipping, and my local discount tire just price matched. I called yesterday for these tires...a set of 4 with insurance was $1856. I bought 5 for my spare and no insurance..$1500 installed! it wasn’t an ordeal but they were floored by the price..anyone out there looking for narrower 35’s, get in on this.

Fun morning/early afternoon. First, worked on my head unit. I’ve had a LOT of fun with this one, but went ahead and pre-ordered the newest model because I’m a tech addict. Supposedly coming in March. In preparation for my 8” tablets (see below), I installed and messed around with Torque Pro, and installed the two transmission custom PID’s. What’s cool is Torque Pro (and possibly other OBD2 apps) can read GPS speed and ECU speed, and I added the dial in the middle to compare the two, to see the speed difference between “factory” and aftermarket tire sizes. I also installed an accessory USB port to be used with my new HU (too lazy and too cold to fish the wire to my existing HU ). I’ll be able to hook an external drive to it if I want, tucked away in the center console.

Next, I installed the Rago dash plate, in preparation to receive my two 8” tablets (one for GPS and the other for Torque Pro, or whatever other Android apps I want to run) and Ram mounts. While I had everything torn apart, I hard wired a couple of USB ports, so I wouldn’t have wires dripping down the dash in front of the HU.

I love the whole concept behind the rago plate, but MAN do I struggle with putting something there, and obstructing any field of view, looking clunky, or obstructing the a/c or radio when you get things positioned out, and low.

That head unit is stellar, too.

I installed my OEM bed mat and my OEM bed rail kit. I'm digging the bed rail kit, install was pretty easy even with the factory spray in bed liner. I found that a step drill bit installed in a handle for hex shafted bits was the easiest way to clean out the bed liner from the factory mounting locations. I am still waiting for the sun to warm the bed mat enough to address the last bit of curling left from packaging and shipping, the curling is only at the front of the mat. Was expecting the mat to be a touch larger as it seems to leave an inch plus unprotected on the back and sides but it is better than not having one. Need to order a few cleats for the front rail and get my OEM remote tailgate lock and unlock setup installed next. (Need to find the install instructions then I may tackle it. For all I know they are in the box with the kit as I have not opened it.) I am still considering letting the dealer address this though.

@jmdaniel Diggin your truck! This looks very similar to the look I’ll be going for on mine. Blacking out emblems and rear bumper caps is next on my list before the lift.

my wife’s Volvo XC60 matches my truck too. Not planned but she thinks it’s cute. Ha

Sure is. Pre ordered direct from Gear America after I had some other company send me completely wrong shackle over month and a half late after I had reported them for fraud. No email responses, Wrong color, style, no anti theft etc. Just sent whatever they could find I guess.

After that I pre ordered from Gear America and messaged a week or two later not expecting them to be in and they apologized and sent out immediately. Good customer service from them. Shackles are beefy!

It’s a Phoenix Android HU. Plug and play (adapter needed only for the GPS), completely opens up the factory JBL system as it lets you increase the gain, and allowed me to add a JBL 1,000 watt amp with (2) JBL subs I bought from JRT at tech12volts. Watch Netflix, Prime, Plex, play Atari, SNES, and MAME emulators, lots of stuff. Can’t wait for the new one with faster processor and later version of Android.

I originally went with a Ram mount for my iPad 3. To your point, a little too big, and since it’s really old, doesn’t run Waze well at all since the iPad doesn’t have GPS. Plus not compatible with Torque Pro. That’s why I went with 8” tablets; looks to be just the right size to where it won’t obstruct the view or vents. I’ll post pics whenever I get them mounted in a couple of weeks. Here’s what I did with the iPad and mount:

If you got the factory tailgate lock kit, they are in the box. And the install is easy other than worming your way along under the truck to zip-tie the harness in place. The instructions are dead simple and easy to follow. I wouldn’t pay someone else to install it.
