What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Got in late last night after picking it up from the dealership. She’s dirty ... had a 2” “level” installed up front. Went spacer route as I don’t off-road.

I personally don’t have them but I thought I read somewhere that they or at least the tabs are thinner? Correct me if I’m wrong please

 

I'm far from an off-roader, but we have 4x4 for getting to and from the family farm and such, then some light off road in the mountains in the summers. My question is on a leveling kit, would I be fine with just spacers? It is overwhelming trying to read through everything with pros and cons of the different systems. I don't want to spend a ton and I'm not looking for bigger tires than I have now, so would a level kit be the best for my needs and wallet?

Well. I have joined a proud brotherhood today. The “Bent Corner on the Console Safe” Brotherhood. I know many that have joined the club. Do we get members only jackets? Lol

 

Mine arrives tomorrow, is it strange that I want the bent corner too?

I actually have this for the truck and a new safe for the in house. My old NRA night stand safe finally seems to have died after 12 years of loyal service...

 

For me, they look identical to my OEM. The listing shows that it fits up to a 2020, but I have a 2021. I matched pin to pin, hole to hole and the reflectors and they match. In fact, the socket that holds the bulb felt tighter when locked into the unit with the aftermarket units. In other words, the OEM sockets felt looser. If I had one complaint, it was one of LED bulbs would stay put in the aftermarket socket. I just ended up swapping the socket...all good.

Finally, the fit on the body was identical to space and location as my OEM. The pins aligned perfectly and snapped in place. No wiggle.

I read where folks where saying that screw hole didn't align. The aftermarket units have nuts (I cannot remember the name of it) like the one you use for the driver's side handle mod. Anyways, yes the hole appear not to align, but I started the screw and lightly pushed the aftermarket unit from the back towards the body as I slowly turned the screw. I think the nut just had to align to the correct position. All of the nuts screwed in all the way, tightly and straight. No issues.

If you look at my pictures you will see that they are flush and even all around. I am/was more concerned about the sockets being water tight.

I have a tool for getting my mountain bike disc brakes straight that looks like the perfect tool for this job. Now to see if I need it.

 

On the inside of the light where they screw into the truck. I tightened by hand and gave it half an extra crank and snapped the plastic. Sent them back and got new ones and they have been fine. Just dont try to dog them down to much.

 

Pair of pliers and some grip strength solved the bent corner. Went in like a glove and is a great addition.

 

Card carrying member here. I think it is “gun cabinets” in general. Tried 3 times and all were damaged.

 

Good info since you have them. For people that want to do these, this info would be something to look at while installing. Are the reverse light portion smoked as well or just the red reflector portions? Not sure if you posted pics with them on but curious myself. I have a ‘21 mgm as well.

Yeah, I posted pictures on my original post. I have more pictures, but I didn't want flood this thread.

The red is smoke and the reverse is NOT. For me the red stood out and I wanted to calm it down. I wasn't worried about the clear portion. Trying to keep the Nightshade look flowing.

I am here to help if you get these for sure. I also have a few of the black or white clips left over. I bought extras just in case.....also helped to balance the shipping costs for them.

 

Ah, okay. I used a battery operated drill on the lowest torque setting and had no problems......but I did go slowly while pushing the unit inwards to make sure it was flush. I tugged on them after installation, no give....I am going to say it is good to go!!

 

Saw the pics. Looks real good....congrats! Did you tint or do anything with your 3rd brake light to match the tails?

Thanks! That is my last modification left to do. I haven't decided how....I found a guy locally who will tint the 3rd light, but I am not sure I want to go that route for the costs. I have been searching for an aftermarket unit....but I have to be careful since it is hard to find something for a 2021. I will post my results here.
