I'm not close enough... they need you to be able to bring your truck to their shop.

Otherwise I'd be all over reaching out to them

Took it in for the 45k mile check up even though it's not even past 38k miles. Was told I need a new battery for $300 and that it didn't pass the test. Well being that it started the truck, I'm pretty sure it passed.

So I'm eyeing an Optima battery. This one: https://www.optimabatteries.com/products/redtop-34r

What's everyone else running for an aftermarket battery?

Bombed around a dry lake bed north of Ventura, Ca today. Aired up from 20psi to 35psi in record time. New air system works great. Mount held up fantastically. 6965DB95-78DD-48E3-A1ED-6A433509E43A.jpg BBA70B07-773D-4842-8EBA-27A2A9B4CF2F.jpg

I would recommend a Northstar or Odyssey battery over an Optima. Better performance, better warranty, also made in USA

Coincidently, my Tacoma and Tundra have the same 27F group battery. Here is a link to a good thread on Tacomaworld

Optima is a dying brand. Quality has gone down the drain and they don't have the reputation they used to have. Northstar/X2 (Batteries plus brand) or Odyssey are the popular options these days. Northstar batteries have better specs in every way, better warranties (5 years from batteries plus) and better prices than Odyssey

Interstate Battery regular size - the truck just sat for 3 weeks in sub zero temps and started right up. That never happened with the OEM battery, 3 weeks was guaranteed to need a boost on it.

Is the Northstar a dry cell battery?

You can take your truck to any auto parts store and they should be able to run a load test on it. Maybe the dealership was telling the truth, maybe they were looking for an easy sale.

I'll be installing a Northstar in mine when the time comes.

The only problem with the X2's (Batteries +Bulbs) is that they are currently on back-order with unknown availability in my area.
I had to compromise to a 34R-PC1500T Odyssey because my 8 year old OEM stock battery finally gave up the ghost last week.
You can whittle price down on the Northstar's (ie X2's) to $280ish after rebates which is absolutely hard to touch at other distributors.

Not my pic but I have the same setup. The spacers lift the front of the seat up 1".
Fits a G43X in a holster easily. Would probably fit my G45 but I haven't tried it yet. My holster is at about a 15* cant, so it makes it a little longer overall top to bottom, but still no issues.
I'll measure the space tomorrow and post it up if you're interested.

Hey Jon!...this is what I did with my TSS, it’s been a few months now and zero issues or error messages...a few of my viewers have now done it and not a single problem reported...doesn’t cost anything to do and will work with any grille on the market (OEM or aftermarket)...hope it helps!

Plenty of room for a pistol. I have my holster mounted, just hadn’t put anything in it at time of pic.
My leg misses my Benchmade and is placed perfectly for a quick grab.
I’ll be adding my Lumintop as well.

I’ve seen fire extinguishers and first aid kits attached with no issues too.

If it fits your G43, my shield should be just fine there then.

Thank you both. The excessively large console works great for storage and keeping your pistol when not traveling, but it'd take forever and a year to grab it rather than having it mounted there.
