What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Yup! Watched yours, didn't realize that it was someone from this forum! I messed up on the first knob and took the entire thing out instead of the replacement part. I somehow lucked out and placed it back in the correct position after unintentionally playing with the white knob. Fortunately, it didn't mess anything up.

Dang these are really nice. How much were they if you don’t mind me asking. Also if you haven’t put them on yet may I know the inner wheel diameter? I have the trd big brake kit and the calipers are huge. They slightly rub against my existing rims on hard turns and they are 20s. ‍♂️ I guess I’m wheel shopping.

Doesn’t rub at all unless I’m turning fast on an on ramp which I did unintentionally. It’s a truck so I don’t really slam on turns. Other than that no noise no rub but it’s damn close to the wheel.

I measured the inside of the barrel, closest to the face is about 16" and it tapers out to about 17.5 on the inside of the wheel.
I can't imagine these would clear if your 20"s don't. Maybe pull one of your wheels and measure, maybe your wheels have a much smaller barrel even though the tire size is 20".

 

Man, thanks so much for doing that. I found out from a little searching around that stoptech says you need at least 20” and any Toyota 20” for tundra would fit. One guy had them on platinum 20”. Since technically I am not experiencing any issues at this time, I will explore some options for now

That is my nightmare. I know that accidents happen, but that it is just B.S. I hope you got to pick the body shop doing the repair.

 

I did. Its a DIY kit.

 

I would refuse them using bondo on a basically brand new truck.

 

I get that we all make mistakes, but I'd want factory painted replaced parts or at least the work done by Toyota. I'd be pretty livid honestly.

I’m not happy at all, but life goes on. There are more important things in life to worry about than a dent. My body shop gives a lifetime warranty so I’ll be back to them when their clear coat fails in 10 years.

 

It’s a nightmare for sure but I can’t let it bother me too much. Seems every time a car or truck of mine goes for service there’s an issue so this is normal for me. An unacceptable normal, but normal nonetheless.

Yup shit happens. At least they’re owning it and fixing it.

Just finished installing 12 volt solutions remote start. Pretty straightforward install. Programmed real easy and works great so far, for the 20 minutes it’s been installed.
