Thinking of doing the same. How much trim paint did you use and how hard was it getting the pieces off?

I used a full can. The center radio bezel takes some time to get apart.

Use any clear coat afterwards or just the trim paint?

Just the trim paint. @2020Platinum has a video on his channel that I followed to pull it apart.

That looks awesome on smoked mesquite! Are you going to replace the platinum badge with a 5.7 iforce badge? That's my favorite emblem with the mix of satin and gloss black!

Thanks! And no, probably not. Not a huge fan of the iForce badge in general. Just looks like a black rectangle unless you're right up on it and doesn't convey anything particularly special IMO. On the other hand, my blacked out Platinum badge is more unique. My plan is to basically have a smoked mesquite TRD PRO when it's all said and done. Never seen one of those before.

You could do the overlay if you're not happy with the all black. I think it looks pretty good, and you can read it.

That’s what I have now... except in the predecessor of your color (sunset bronze mica)..

be ready, you will get lots of people asking if it is a custom paint job.
