    Had the "Tacoma" mat for my Tacoma. It was necessary for that plastic bed liner. I'm hoping to get away without needing one for the Tundra. Plus the interior space is much better so I'm hoping to not have to use the box as much for things like a case of beer or something.

    First off, a thank you to Ron and all the sages of the following thread for paving the way so I would not have to think so hard about the idea of painting the engine cover/shroud!

    So as posted previously, I opted for masking off the lettering. All the items that were used for that task are found in the photo.

    I was fortunate enough to use a buddy’s body shop oven to bake/cure between coats tons quicker!

    3 Coats of VHT primer came next…

    I followed up with 3 base color coats (Cavalry Blue for the WIN!) I had a local paint supplier mix up the 8W2 code in a rattle can for $19.09! This looks to be about dead on, no? I had ordered a can from an online source and felt it was way off…

    The emblem was done previously with my steering wheel emblem in a semi-gloss black with satin clear as well.

    Next came the unmasking reveal… which looked, okay.?

    I then used 5 coats of VHT satin clear to dim out the exceptionally bright sheen of the Cav Blue. Maybe I should have gone high gloss clear but I am content with it.

    It sure “woke” up the engine bay though! What do you think, continue with the fuse box covers and intake, no?
