Is this a case where the defoulers everyone uses for O2 spacers would be helpful? As in, is this what they are meant to protect from?

Toyota recommends dual copper electrodes in the 5vz, but I ran platinum singles in both of my tacos without a hitch.

I had my eye on it for quite some time as well but then decided to build my own. I also saw a youtuber with a FGT who used the universal winch mount from Harbor Freight and got it to fit pretty good on his truck.

I actually bought the HF one but didnt get it to work with my particular bumper and setup so I returned it and built my own.

The hidden one is $350 and you dont drill any holes, the HF one is $50 or DIY but youll need to drill some holes in your frame most likely. I decided to drill some holes and save some money.

So they put that plastic bumper back on without the bumper support? Bet those foglights bounce all over the road.

I need to look into that. I know the Amp'd one also drops down below the frame rails to allow for clearance. I'd give $50 a shot though.

Yea now that I recall, I didnt have the bumper support @Sirfive mentioned which is what the youtube guy used to help support his HF winch mount. His worked perfectly using that bumper support. Since I didnt have that anymore, because of my custom bumper, I had to make a custom mount. If I had that support the HF mount wouldve worked great for a lot cheaper. Ill try to find that video

Thank you for that. I would still like to retain my factory steel bumper. Might look into how to engineer that. Again, I'll give it a shot for $50. I may try to mount it below the frame rails using the tow hook holes already there like the Amp'd style does.

    @shifty` @JakeJake @KNABORES @FrenchToasty @assassin10000
    Update:
Since I also triggered a code for a misfire on cylinder 7, I pulled that plug and it was fine, as well as the coil.
Dropped a new denso copper plug in cylinder 2, and the truck started no problem but still ran horribly yet without any concerning engine noise.
Scanned for codes and P0171 did not show, but the misfire on cylinder 2 did.
Took another look at the coil and realized it was cooked. (I regret not taking pics) Replaced with Masterpro (the only coil my local store had on-hand). Truck started and ran flawlessly. Cleared codes and none returned.
Truly thankful as it seems there is no damage to the cylinder at all (yeah you read that right @JakeJake :boink::rofl:)
So, the way I understand it is; when I replaced my accessory belt tensioner pulley, I accidentally popped off a small vacuum line, causing the truck to run lean. As I continued to drive it, the hot ignitions led to the coil to plug connection burning up and arching until complete failure, and the cylinder misfire.
    Lesson learned:
Even a minor vacuum leak can compromise an engine of you continue to run it. Didn’t happen to me this time, but I got lucky, and I know that.
Thanks to all that engaged. :oldglory:

My damned radiator started leaking everywhere yesterday. It was -9 F when I started my engine, ran it up to temp for about 10 miles. Smelled coolant when I parked it, popped the hood and found coolant coming from everywhere on my radiator. I know for a fact that the coolant was mixed 50/50, so nothing froze.

I bought a Denso factory replacement two years ago. Replacement parts are built like shit anymore.

Now I have to replace it, I guess, damn it :rain:

Any suggestions for a decent OEM spec replacement that won't break the bank? 4.7 V8

I think you just got a bad radiator that had a latent defect. My Denso has been running strong for the last 7 years or so. Got mine on Scamazon too.

It’s horrible weather to be working outside. You may want a portable tent and a portable electric heater to get it done.

I don't ever test my coolant, but after a drain and fill, or drain, flush and fill, you can end up with a not 50/50 mix despite only adding a 50/50 mix to the system. Worth getting a coolant tester and checking your juice after a full system service. Lots of nooks and crannies that can harbor residual flush water and dilute your coolant. My guess would be froze and busted based on your failure description. But these days? Could have just gotten a shit radiator too.

Fortunately, it wasn't a rupture, at least nothing catastrophic, but it definitely seems to be leaking in a couple spots. Man the way they ship these things, in a cardboard box with a few small pieces of foam to support the corners really leaves them vulnerable.

Hard to say what happened, but I'm dreading replacing it in this weather lol

I'm sure the cold temps didn't help anything either. I just looked again at the prices of radiators, for some reason I was thinking they were about 3x the price that they are (about 145 bucks for a Denso). I guess $170 shipped isn't too terrible.
