Got my new coilovers installed. That was hot! Of course the lower shock bolts the previous owner used were wrong and way too big and would have stripped out the lower shock mount if I tried to used. Luckily I had 2 spares on hand. I have no idea how so much dirt got in the top of both of the old assemblies, but good riddance.

I had to quickly start adjusting my new coilovers. I was rubbing every time the truck twitched since they did not come with preload like the sales person said they would. It can be done on the truck, and without a spanner wrench, but sketch-ily and not easily. And there's a more than decent chance of mangling the adjuster ring holes. I used 2 ratchet straps cuz safety obviously. Finally managed to get about 1.5 inches about of them and can drive without rubbing.

I also managed to replace the rear speed senso harness, the rear passenger speed sensor (still didn't clear my ABS light) and replaced the tailgate molding which only had about 30% remaining.

Im happy to report that my parts pile is at an all time low. Ive got oem TRE's and boots to go on the rack and a new PCV vale to install. I'll probably be liquidating a bunch of spare/extra parts later in the week.

Yeah, I'm firmly in your camp with the sketchy ratcheting coil compressors. I've used em and didn't die.
I don't think I'd use ratchet straps though.

It's all about not being complacent with them. I've used them 100 times or more, and I still get weirded out using them. Keeps me paying attention to what I'm doing. That may be a bit much for some folks here's....

Just to be clear, the coilover was bolted in and still contained in the lower control arm and upper spring mount.
But ya I won't be telling my wife. I thought I could confide in this group.

Try a little lubricant on the threads if you need to do it again, spins much easier.

Yup, yellow left, only replying to add: Yellow always left on front and back, yellow always forward when on the sides.

Don't overtighten. Or Tighten finger tight and double nut. Your shit will break. That shit is garbage, someone is making a fortune on them.

Meanwhile, I did something today. Guy with the GX470 OEM wheels never did call back. Meh. Maybe he'll call. We'll see.

Anyone need some Tactiks for their Jeep? I'll sell 'em cheap cheap! It's a deal, better not sleep!
