So thankfully the shop stayed busy enough that I didn't have time to paint my wheels. I did, however, find the time to sand and paint the center caps along with the mirror caps.

Put in the order for my lower ball joints. One was in stock and one will arrive tomorrow. After that I will get them installed and have a nice 4WA done.

I found a Sienna airbag cover that would accommodate buttons that I ordered from Chyna. I haven't tore into my truck yet to see what I have in there. This bag came with the airbag inflator still attached. Can I remove it and the airbag and move over my stuff to the cover? My truck already had the Takata airbag recall done by the local dealer a while back. Thanks.

The sides look great. It's the hood and roof that suck.

What is your paint code? It it is 202 then it's just straight black and is a lot cheaper since you wont have any need to blend panels.

Learned the hard way today that using an underpowered impact on a bolt with 10 ugga duggas puts severe wear on the drive attachment for the impact socket. It’s not something I want to do again with my ‘made in USA’ craftsman impact sockets.

I’ll have to buy and use cheaper ‘made in Taiwan’ impact sockets instead for that purpose.

If I still have them, want some sienna buttons that might color match?

I took the electronics out of them for the matching green backlit color on my 4runner buttons, which are originally orange backlit.

I've been considering swapping button faces over on my hand controls; how hard was it to take the buttons apart?

Super easy. Two phillips screws, unclip and a cut a ziptie.

The color mismatch doesn't bother me. I am curious what color the backlighting will be though. I don't recall the AliExpress site mentioning the backlight color. Just need to remove the airbag from the cover and transfer over my airbag to it.

I woke up at 3am this morning in a cold sweat realizing sometime in the last 12 hours I'd seen someone who broke the cardinal rule of airbags, and I couldn't remember exactly where it was. I guess it was here, and I see you were on top of it. Good job! :D

You gotta isolate your bags, @digitalferg

If you’re only bumper pulling with bags, a Tee in the airline should be just fine. Now if you were hauling a bunch of weight in the bed of your truck, i’d definitely plumb those airbags independent of each other.

Fs in the chat for my rear brakes and fuel level.

Slapped some new shoes and bell cranks on it for inspection and apparently the one wheel cylinder has sprung a leak that I didn't find until afterwards. Pedal goes almost to the floor but the parking brake works!

Guess I'm rolling with no inspection until next year and I'll replace both wheel cylinders next spring.

Bonus pic of the fuel gauge

Just got my timing belt replaced. Used Aisin Kit. Parents go to mechanic, total charge 450 plus Aisin TB kit. Total cost $640. Removed cover to take a peek at belt, while pulling back on it.. this little thing fell off, does it go anywhere? Any ideas

Hey! Are you guys running p-rated or e-rated tires? Recently put on 255/80/17 toyo open country at3s e-rated and they feel pretty good around 34psi. Might switch to p rated next time around. They weight 51lbs if anyone is curious

Doing some cosmetic stuff the last few days. Solution Finish on the faded black trim, Happy with the results so far. Pulled the grill of to sand/paint and repair cracked mount brackets.

Recently pulled the bed and did some rust mitigation - wire brush and POR-15 treatment. The frame is in good shape, but I was getting some rusty areas. Still need to do the front half. Still on the list for coming days/weeks: LBJ change, diff/xfer case fluids, possibly new headlights. Either that or try to refurbish them again. Leaning towards replacements.

If by cover you mean a cam cover and if it’s approx 3/4 long and about 1/4 diameter, it’s possibly one of the bolt sleeves? in plastic cam cover. There’s a bolt sleeve? for each bolt.
