That’s just caked up grease over the rubber on the upper ball joint. Still no play in the joint.

All three orders from Serra shipped today. ECGS plus seal already arrived. Parts pile is about to get humongous. @bmf4069 plus other fellers. Let me know what yall do about the power steering pressure lines. I need to replace both mine.

Think when I was looking at Serra the set was $400+ during the sale.

Get the high pressure one rebuilt locally if it looks like it needs it, then buy the other two on rock auto for pennies on the doll hair

Got this swing case installed, only took 15 minutes or so. Tundra related bc my understanding is the 2nd gen ones fit the best gens, and thinking about ordering one. Don't mind my dirty bed, that must have got blown in at Starbucks or the Mall.

    IMG_3186.jpgIMG_3187.jpgIMG_3188.jpg

Wouldn't mind having one on both sides, but as you can see in the picture that would block the light and outlet in this model. Also, picture of my new wrenching buddy. Finally found someone on the same wavelength to help out.

Maybe for heat dissipation? Or possibly a different application that didn’t get milled completely for our builds at the factory. I bet @empty_lord knows

Following up on my post on page 1315:

I looked at the coolant temp sensors. The coolant temp sensor connector that sends to the gauge fell apart when I removed it. Specifically, part of the connector that houses the RTD (resistance temperature detector) stayed within the sensor housing, and I had to remove it in pieces. (See pic below depicting probe without interior plastic housing.)

I picked up a replacement probe and connector from Toyota. I snipped the old probe (see pic below).

Then, I used a heat shrink solder butt connector to splice the wires together (see pic below).

After a prolonged drive, the gauge appears to be operating appropriately. Thanks to @shifty` @Jack McCarthy for their opinions and advice. I was suspicious of the coolant temp sensor, but I could not understand why it would coincidentally fail at the same time as the timing belt job. Maybe, it was acting up before, and I just did not notice??? Regardless, thanks for pushing me to investigate.

    Parts replaced, all OEM:
    • Coolant temp sensor connector probe for gauge (part #: 82998-12440)
    • Coolant temp sensor connector probe for gauge housing (part #: 90980-11428)

This is what I've had to do on LS swaps to mate engine and power steering pump. Take both cables into a hydraulic shop and have them mesh the two together.

I really can't justify spending $90 on that electrical mount the IG dude makes, so I've been homebrewing my own using stuff laying around the garage. I don't have extra steel plate, so I started thinking about using some ABS plastic or something similar for the base. I cut up an old SxS windshield and so far I think it's going to work. I'll have to see about painting it or something so it's not clear. Recycling for whirled peas at it's finest.

My switch setup in the cab is pretty awful at the moment so it'll be nice to clean it up.

It's pretty much for mounting electrical accessories. That's what mine will be used for. This is the mount: https://www.kamdesignstudios.com/electrical-mount-v1-5

Like Frenchy said, mine will have a lot of real estate compared to this.

Some stuff came while I was out east house shopping so I started assembling out of boredom. The shocks may need to go on first followed by making a bastard leaf pack/ 3-leaf AAL, TC drop shackles, brake line, etc.

Awesome great to hear! I ran 7100s on my taco way back before i did my f67s and kings and remember loving them so figure id give these a go. The eventual plan is to do a custom set-up back there but with trying to move and needing to do suspension rebuild on Sequoia and Taco too, this seemed the fast and easy route. But hey maybe ill like them and theyll stay longer!?
