Here is a close up of the front end install. Installed some new rain-x latitude 19" wipers today as well. Going to clean the windshield and apply rain-x in addition to the wipers. The. truck. drives. so. nicely. Suspension upgrade is not subtle.

Not just today, but over the last few weeks:
Replaced ALL the front bushings on the upper and lower control arms.
Replaced ALL the inner and outer tie-rod ends.
Replaced ALL the upper and lower ball joints (YES, OEM!)
Replaced ALL the shocks and springs.
    Replaced the Timing Belt (TKT-021)
    Replaced valve cover gaskets.
Replaced the Radiator, hoses and thermostat.
    Replaced the window motors
    Replaced window tint
    Replaced foggy Front headlight housings
    Replaced old cracked taillight housings
    Replaced rotted third brake light
Replaced all incandescent bulbs with LEDs
    Replaced all speakers
    Replaced bed cover
    Replaced fender flare rubber gaskets

It drives like a new truck. Still looks like an old truck.....

I'm curious also. I need to refinish my headlights. I'm tired of buffing them every six months. It was this spring when I did a quick buff and took most the yellow off. This is what they look like now. It's too bad because I thought it was a cool picture without the ugly yellow headlights.

I was thinking about shims today. Let us know. My springs will likely raise my rear a fair amount, so I’m interested.

Am I the only one who thinks the 19” wiper sucks on the driver side? I went with a 24” long ago and couldn’t be happier. Also did a 20” on the passenger.

Oh interesting. Haven't even thought to go bigger. But yes, I had thought that the 19s were a little small. Good to know those sizes fit.

THIS is the type of thing you will only find out about in a collective such as we are. Somebody is curious enough to try something, it works out and then they post it. Nice.

Yes! 100%. And yes the 24/20 works out much better than dual 19s.

Anyone know what this whining noise is? Has done it since I bought the truck 4 months ago. Just had the timing belt/wp and serp belt done, no change in the noise.

    https://youtu.be/_sHNLRgZS7s
Might have to turn volume up to hear it.

My first thought too, but fluid is full and the noise doesn't really change when the wheels are turned. My other thought was one of the pulleys on the front of the engine or the serp belt tensioner

Made an attempt at trimming my pinch welds today. Tires at least clear now though. It’s still tight but good news is I’ve got some adjustment left in the Coil overs if I need it.

Pop the rivet that holds the fender liner down and then start cutting

    A4951AB0-EEFF-43C3-AEFD-8A710E64CF1B.jpg
First cut(s) made were 2 horizontal slits, the more you cut, the easier it bends without spinning on the pinch weld bolt.

    28A74309-BC88-4894-AD7B-95460DA0618E.jpg

Next cut(s): the solid arrows, made an up cut at the pinch weld bolt. Then made a horizontal cut as close to cab as I could. And from there beat the s**t out of it with a hammer. The dashed line was an optional cut, I made it on the drivers side but didn’t on the passenger side. It just makes the piece easier to fold. Once your satisfied with the cuts, use your choice of paint. I used chassis shaver from the company that makes monstaliner. I still need to jb weld and seal everything up it I ran out of time.

    943A1086-6FF0-460A-A728-B4BCC426FFC5.jpg
And the mostly finished product minus being sealed. All I did for the front was cut flush with screw that holds the fender liner in place

Contemplating fixing things that annoy me...

Also looking to replace the non-dimming rearview mirror with a Gentex 177 auto dimming mirror with temp sensor and compass. I miss not having an exterior temp sensor. Seems like a pretty simple install and my current mirror is in rough shape.

Spent several hours cleaning up the truck inside and out after the beach. When we rolled out the awning last week we found it covered in mold/mildew. Apparently water got in over the winter.

Rolled it out today and sprayed it with bleach water. We'll see if I can save it. It's airing out in the garage.

Damn! Bleach will do the trick. Might be permanently stained from the mold but it won’t continue to grow. Is there a hole in the cover?

Every roll up awning everywhere gets water inside the roll. I think it wicks in from the sides of the roll. If there was a way to cap the exposed ends, maybe you could keep the water out.

No hole that I've found. It was parked outside this winter and we get a TON of rain here. 60+ inches of rain a year and much of that happens in Jan-Feb. I think it just found a way in.

Gotta disagree with you on that. I’ve had my 23Zero for almost 2 years and no water has ever gotten in. It’s fully zipped.

Does your 23zero have a cover? if you could cover the ends of the awning, that would keep the water out. It's the awning with exposed ends that the water wicks up into. Fully zipped makes it sound as if it is in a cover.

Made a bracket for my compressor switch, I was stubborn and didn’t want to look for my dremmel. Got everything wired up and tapped into the 10a ignition. I’ll have to double check stuff but I still have a light on the switch that’s on with ignition, I didn’t wire in the dash illumination leg so I don’t know if that’s just how the switch is wired/lit or what’s going on, it’s at my feet so not a big deal anyways.
I let the compressor run and it filled up the 2.4 gal tank in about 3 minutes, I’ll check in the morning if any air was lost by cycling the key and seeing if the pressure switch calls or not. 06BEAF1D-1758-45CC-B381-C1E57FDE9A8C.jpg C9ACE3B3-6769-49E2-8EEC-3A92135ABF61.jpg

99% sure I did. That was my initial thought but my wife remembers me rolling it out. We had a one lane driveway so I had to extend it over our fence.

Not gonna sweat it though. The awning wasn't that expensive and I'd like a bigger one someday.
