It's possible :notsure: We were wanting to eventually replace it with something nicer anyway.....guess they just wanted to give us some motivation.

At one point I lived in a not so nice part of town and one night someone was trying to steal a window unit ac.

Fred tore him a new asshole when I turned him loose.
    Lol it was epic
    Thief screaming
Fred going after that leg and the blood
Lol was glorious. I called him off and the thief took off running
Called the cops and reported it. No one ever showed up at the hospital for dog bites tho.
But I know he carries some scars cause ole Fred has blood all over him lol

    Ah the good old days.

Miss that pup. He’s been gone now for 32 years.

My dog chewed up the front bumper of my RAV4 while chasing some animal (probably a squirrel or mouse) that ran under it and hid on the engin. She even ripped the license plate off.

I had a Chesapeake Bay Retriever that was like that on the farm I grew up on. We lived way back off the main road down a crushed oyster shell drive entrance to the property. Could always tell if someone had tried to walk down the the drive to the house. Blood shows up bright on sun bleached white crushed oyster shell...LOL

My Pitt Mix was picked up off the streets at about 1 and we've had her 9 years. I was a first time dog owner, wife had only ever owned dogs without issues that could be trusted on their own after a few months with minimal training. Let me also add, we picked her up about 6 months before we got married.

She was always destructive. Started with trash and minor items. When we tried to clear rooms she'd go into the kitchen and counter surf, chew Tupperware. Then she started eating our couch. We went through 3 or 4 of the cheap PetSmart wire crates. She even gnawed her way out of a plastic airline carrier we tried. I tried to train her to accept the crate by positive reinforcement and by encouraging her to go in to sleep even while we were home, sitting in the living room watching TV. I was making slow progress but then the wife spoiled it, started making me go back to only crating her when we left because she felt guilty keeping her in there while we were home.

She went back to hating it and trying to escape. We finally had to go this route, a solid aluminum kennel like you'd bolt in the bed of your truck to go hunting. When contractors come through and see it they stop suddenly and demand to know what dog I have and where is it, because it looks like something to hold a mountain lion sitting in the middle of my living room. Then a 45 pound Pitt bounds down the stairs and starts licking their feet and butt bumping them.

    http://leerburg.com/crate.htm

The experts will tell you never to try to use a more secure crate on a dog that breaks out of crates, you need more training. But we were at our breaking point and about to re home her. She'd have probably never found a home again around here. Sweetest, friendliest dog ever but we just couldn't afford the property damage. When we started using it we came home and found aluminum filings on her teeth for awhile but that eventually stopped. I'd drag her in there every time we left the house basically for about 8 years. Then one day the wife was home alone and had to do it by herself. She said it was so hard to get her down the stairs she was going to chance it and leave her out. We came home to no damage. I guess she was so happy to be free she went upstairs and just enjoyed sleeping in our bed.

We've had an over-turned trash can or two since then and 1-2 unimportant items chewed, probably if something happened outside to make her upset. But she's generally been good. Just happy to go upstairs and be able to curl up in the bed and not see bars.

It has taught me any future dogs that come into my house will be crated for awhile and will be offered freedom gradually as they show good behavior. I'll never let a dog have the run of my house that early again. My dog only learned to control her behavior by losing her freedom for so many years and then getting it back again.

My youngest Dane goes nuts for stuffing, and he will tear anything apart to get to it.

Related; he does this weird thing when he gets excited where he runs full speed to the couch up against our living room wall, jumps on it, turns around and springs off of it, and runs back to whatever he's excited about. It's absolutely hilarious, but from doing this so often and so many times, he's torn a small hole in the couch cushion. He recently found that hole and couldn't control himself from ripping it apart to get to the stuffing

Just came home to my dog yesterday sitting in front of a pile of DVD's she pulled of the entertainment center and destroyed. Nothing else, just DVD's. Few days before that, sunglasses off the kitchen counter.

When I was stationed in Puerto Rico I had a yellow lab, Jake. The wife was pregnant with our oldest and it was the first time in her life she was away from home. (Stressed and homesick)
Her and Jake had this dislike for each other for some reason. He would only chew and destroy her stuff. I come home from work one day and see that Jake was evicted. All I could do is say sorry dude, that's the way it is for now.
So after a day or two outside Jake went to the piller where my wife had her hammock strung and started chewing on this concrete stucco pillar. After about a week it was destroyed. I shit you not! Land Lady was pissed, wife was pissed, Jake was proud of himself and I was impressed.
Told the land lady, I didnt know what happened. After that Jake was aloud back in the house.

When I had Shelties, years ago!!! my male ate my bird while I was at work. I liked that bird he was cool.
My mom stopped at the house with the kids to pick something up. Kids came running and screaming out of the house. It was covered in feathers top to bottom. I had a message left for me at work that said do not go home after work, go to your mother's. Than I couldnt get ahold of anyone. Way before cell phones!!!
I was scared to death and couldnt leave work. Went to my moms, she told me what happened...I was actually relieved that everyone was ok. My boyfriend cleaned everything, behind, under, over. I never seen one feather. Till this year...I opened a box of our pictures from years ago there laid a feather :eek2: I tossed the pictures...kept the feather:rofl:
