Nice deal. If I could get the same deal on a Platinum, it would be in my driveway right now.

We have ~7% state I believe and then my County collects another half percent, or 1%, in addition to that. The latter comes in the mail

In South Carolina we have a $300 cap on vehicle sales tax. After reading what other people are paying, I think I'll just live here for now.

Yeah, you had your ski mask on when you bought that one.

We ended up buying a Sienna SE (Gotta cart around the kiddies) and it's really nice. Though, I still have my eye out for a Silver 4x4 Crewmax Platinum. Which dealer did you buy yours from, Koko? I'm not opposed to having a bit of a drive, if it makes sense.

2016 platinum crewmax, sticker was 52064, paid 49000 plus taxes, fees, etc...and it was a manager demo with 6000 miles on it.....Went to the same dealership twice and they would not negotiate further..but did get a bed extender out of it.

2016 sr5 trd cm with sensor package 44500 sticker got it for 40100 otd,(before trade in)extras thrown in trd exhaust, spray in bed liner and fabric protection (not a fan of leather) 5 years full maintenance,
5 years free inspections and emissions. With a lifetime warranty. Felt that was a good deal but I really made out on my trade in, basically same truck but a 14 I bought in 13 so almost 3 years old none of the extras just stock with a drop in bed liner. 14700 miles still had that new car smell,Originally paid 38700 otd for it,owed 23900 got 33100 for it so out the door on the 16 was 30900.

SR5 Crewmax, $39k+ sticker price, $38k+ after Toyota incentive, $41k+ after Obama $2500 tax for no trade-in. Had chrome running boards and paint protectant added by the dealer for extra incentive to buy. (It worked) Other than the Obama tax I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Can you clarify the "Obama tax" for no trade? Not familiar with this.

Why would you want OTD price? TTL varies by state. Some states do not have a sales tax and some people have trades that offset purchase price. Most useful info is MSRP and purchase price of vehicle without trade or TTL.

at the end of the day all that matters in the OTD price what the MSRP was doesn't mean anything all MSRP will vary the OTD price is all you need to know (Trade ins shouldn't be included on this thread)

OTD might matter to you but does no good for comparison purposes for anybody else. Including trade in OTD is just fooling yourself. MSRP does not mean anything but discount from does. How do you compare state to state when you have tax rates that vary from 0 to 10%? If you want to show OTD break it down starting with purchase price.

A tax (penalty) was enacted by the Obama administration for anyone buying a new vehicle outright, that is w/o a trade in. The idea was to encourage people to get clunkers off the road. The government was supposed to reimburse dealers for taking these on trade, which ended up with the dealers not getting the reimbursement in many cases. Anyway, the $2500 charge was listed as a penalty for not having anything to trade in. All this came about around the same time that GM stock holders had their shares stolen by the same administration and given to the unions and Canadian government.

I think it was the beginning of a carbon tax in our country. You know, putting another vehicle on the road w/o taking one off creates a new carbon footprint.
